2 days rest before Pelicans...I highly doubt they rest anybody come wed. If Westbrooks T isn't overturned and he gets suspended for Portland, last game might not mean a thing for the Pelicans come the last game though.

Whether they rest guys or not might also depend on results the next couple days.

The 2 days' rest might tilt the balance in favour of no rest but I'm still holding out hope.

Pelicans better not wait until the last game against Spurs. They better take care of business tomorrow against the TPups or they don't deserve to make the playoffs.

I totally agree with you on this one seaborneq.

My Spurs are playing at a very high efficient level right now.

Plus they will get some rest and the first round of the playoffs at home.

The Pelicans won't be flying against the Spurs.

Memphis is officially out of the race. Even if they win and both the Spurs and Rockets lose, the Spurs win the 3 way tie.

It's gonna be between the Rockets and the Spurs. Need a Rockets win and Spurs loss which is certainly possible given their respective opponents. That +3300 is also in play

If the Spurs lose they have a chance to play the banged up Blazers or the eternal loser Clippers.

    Spurs -400/Rockets +229/Grizzlies +1300

Do they not know the Grizzlies CANT win the division?

I did last night. We tossed it around a little last night. It starts with "any regular season win totals out yet?". It should be on the first or second page.

looks like the Spurs will have expended a ton of energy here for no gain afterall

if Memphis beats the Pacers, they'll drop all the way back down to #6

It matters. No team has ever won three 7 game road series to make the finals. Too much to overcome.

you're obviously not watching because they care a helluva lot. and it will matter quite a bit either way.

what they really need is for Indiana to beat Memphis so they can get the 5 seed and host Portland.

They may care, but they have already proven they can win the title from any seed. Just bring on the nameless faceless opponents and they'll beat them.

sure, Clippers are known to choke when it matters most, but they don't want to have to potentially play 3 straight road series against the Clipps, Rockets, and Warriors. that just won't end well for them.

Spurs really need Indiana to win in a HUGE way and that's asking a lot right now, Pacers are miserable on offense.

How ironic is it that that miracle Kyrie Irving game ends up being the difference. I swear that game originally had me as mad as I've been in ages.

Here's the Spurs playoff road to win the title:

    @ Clippers
    @ Rockets
    @ Warriors
    @ Hawks or host Cavs

I would line them at +1250 to win it all. Realistically, true odds are probably closer to +2500.

Why do the spurs need indiana to win? Not a huge difference between a 5 and a 6 seed.

Erm, actually there's a HUGE difference since the 5 seed gives you homecourt this year and has you playing a team that has like half its roster banged up or out for the season.

The only slight drawback is playing Golden State in the second round but it at least gives you 1 easy round.

Yet books will price them at +550 or so.

getting the 5 seed would amount to a 1st round bye with homecourt.

With the Clippers having HCA the series will likely be Spurs as a short fave I agree. They'd also probably be a short fave against Houston.

Spurs would be -500 against Portland though. Far easier matchup with HCA and a banged up opponent. Even though the Clippers are losers, everyone wants to play Portland now.

yeah, maybe even a bit higher but those are nowhere near close to being true odds when you really think about the road they'd have to travel. Clipps, Rockets, and Warriors all greatly improved, all finished strong, and all are going in very healthy (outside of Beverley being out).

if they were to actually make it to the finals and you parlayed the series prices for each of the 4 rounds, the potential payout would probably be closer to something like +800 to +1000 when all said and done.

Books don't give fair prices. They give what looks right from a public standpoint. Public does not realize how hard it is to win 3 nba road series.

Coming from somebody who thinks true odds will have the spurs +2500 at winning the championship.
