ESPN: Lakers better without Kobe... 'significantly'

    http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/pos...-ailing-lakers

i believe this has been self-evident for several years.. but this phenomenon
has finally been perceived by most and not merely speculation.. but accepted fact.

a stat in hockey that has been kept for at least 30 yrs..
and was introduced in the NBA last years..
    "Point Differential"

i remember a game against the Clippers earlier this season,
wherein the Lakers had a 4-pt edge at the beginning
of the 4th Qtr.. and was tight the entire game to that point.
Kobe went off and shot 1-7 and blew the game..
Clippers went on to win 118-111, outscoring the Lakers 32-21
    in the 4th Qtr.

to date this year (10 Games)
    all minutes tallied

    Los Angeles Lakers
    (without Kobe on floor) +20

    Los Angeles Lakers
    (Full Kobe hero-ball, 1-on-5 isolation) -120

in basketball and in hockey.. that is the bottom line.
    this is a team sport.

if the Lakers play the same strategy/distribution plan as the last game..

i think that win tonight in Houston.. and maybe next game as well

the trick for them is strong games by Boozer/Young/Lin..
Kobe will get his 25-30 Pts..

the question is how many possessions it takes to get those pts.
