    Melo to Knicks for 129/5

    I keep seeing this unofficially.

    That is a nice contract.

If I were Melo, I'd jump on that, even if you do plan to want to go somewhere else. Jump on that max 5 year.

Good contract for Melo. Doubt he will ever win anything in NY, but he will never have to worry about money again in his life.

Melo should take the $$$. He's not worth that and can't lead a team to a title but I'm not worth that much to an NBA team either but if it was offered, I would take it and say thank you suckers.

his coming back to the knicks. its all but official at this point, unless Heat had an opening he wasn't leaving the Knicks to begin with.

Melo is the only player even close to Kobe in the most overrated of all time argument. Advance stats have destroyed every argument of him being a star player, just like they did Kobe. Just happy he isn't going to the Bulls. He'll spend the next 5 years scoring 30 on 40% shooting, playing no defense, and convincing Knicks fans he's somehow a + player.

Kobe overrated? You can as well say all super star players are overrated then. Durant, CP3, Derrick Rose, Howard, e.t.c.....and Lebron should be overrated as well.

i'll be shocked if he goes to the Flakers, they suck and will suck the next 3 years minimum,

bulls the best landing spot, but knicks the most likely one

People can have fun hating but wait until 2015 when Amare and Bargnani are off the books and the Knicks will be the spot for the best FA's to come. Phil will making something happen, so enjoy your year of saying it's all about money.

When has he ever shot 40%? He's right at 45% overall about 49% on 2's.

Not sure if srs. Basketball reference Kobe and compare him to LBJ, KD, MJ, Shaq, CP3, etc. You will quickly see which one doesn't belong

Just a Melo fan buddy. It's the truth, Knicks aren't gonna be shit forever just because people want them to be.

    Same with the Lakers.

Still more than two thirds of the all-stars in the league have done. They're winners though.

5 years about 122 mil. Good for Melo brand to be back in nyc but not for winning as chi would have been better for that

I think Mello could of received this Max Deal anywhere. I'm really surprised he stayed with New York.

To use the cliche that he "carried the team" is an understatement, IMO. It is still one of the most impressive singular seasons of sport I've witnessed.

Melo is elite at what he does. He needs competent players around him to pick up the slack of what he doesn't do.

He's not Kobe, he's not MJ, he's not LeBron. He isn't a two way player, and thus winning will be a bit tougher, but it's not out of the question with him.

Phil is a wizard at this shit, I really can't wait to see what he does in the upcoming years.

No. He literally couldn't. Only your existing team can offer 5 years. The biggest other offer he got was 4/95 from Lakers. That's 30+ mil. Bulls could only offer 4/78. So he stayed with NY because nobody else could offer nearly as much $.

$$ + Home + Phil making the pitch. I don't think other teams had a chance.

Lol. Yeah, because both teams have elite level front office and a roster filled with assets.

Their isn't ONE team with a worse outlook for the next 2-3 years then these two. Even Brooklyn. After that, sure. But neither has any path to being a contender now, no.

Edit: But, looking at your other posts you've been in EVERY SINGLE Melo thread defending him. How cute. You realize he wouldn't give you the time of day, right? He doesn't know you exist and you've spent years defending his every move on an anonymous internet forum. Wow.

I'm not trying to be his friend.

Not ONE team with a worse outlook? I guess the T'Wolves or Kings will finally make the playoffs. It's only been a decade for the T'Wolves but yeah, their outlook is better...losing Love soon and all. You're right though, LA and NY with those markets...outlook is grim.

The Kings have Cousins and a top 10 coach. The Wolves are going to get a truckload of assets for Love.

Yeah, that New York market has attracted so much elite talent in the last 10 years right? LMAO.
