Melo and Lebron to join Kobe on the Lakers????

Melo, Kobe, Lebron thats one hell of a Big 3.

Which is better that big 3 or
Melo, Lebron, Dirk on the Mavs

    or

    Dwight Howard, Melo, Lebron, Harden
on the Rockets to create the big 4

IMO the big 4 in Houston would be nasty but i think Lebron wants to the celebrity status that comes with LA as well as maybe an ocean front Malibu Mansion.

I think these guys are starting to realize its not enough to pair stars, you still need a team, just getting together and youre a SG and SF isnt enough, would be one thing if some of these guys are bigs, but none of them are. Youre not winning when both or all 3 need the ball to be effective and you all play on the wing or the backcourt. That doesnt even work in the Olympics. Defense and rebounding still trumps all.

It's sad that the NBA has come to this....more drama on contracts/ business than the actual product on the court smh.

Might as well throw in Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Charles Barkley in the deal.

They should all take a page out of the Spurs play book on how to build a championship team. Of course there really aren't any other Tim Duncan's around.

Meanwhile no one cares that this year's NBA champs, that blew out the glorious Heat dynasty, re-signed all their players.

People need to stop idolizing superstars and start focusing on built teams.

I think the guys on the spurs are superstars within the system personally. Pop is brilliant and is cut from the cloth of run it through the big man days of past. Ewing, Olajawon, Admiral, Shaq types are a dead breed in todays game due to individual superstars destroying the NBA imho. God bless the Knicks and RIP NBA...call me when Lebron is retired.

let's see: kobe 20+mil. Melo 20+ mil. another all star at 20 + mil. then you surround melo and this yet-to-be-named all star with d-leaguers, cause you got no more dollars to spend.. what a horrific outcome for the lakers. kobe should be trying to prove that he can play in summer league now.

mason and Ireland are talking about melo and rumor that time warner offered LALA a Tv deal .... also saying kobe will be gone in 2 years and sold melo on being the face of the Lakers being a Global brand one name global brand like kareem,Magic, shaq , kobe they have a point there the 3 retired ones are killing it post career. They sold me I'd be shocked if melo doesn't sign with LA.

The question of where Lebron would be next year was answered the moment Dwayne Wade opted out of his contract. Lebron is going back to Miami.

My post was more focused on media hyped superstars that are always the topic of NBA conversations instead of, like ra77er said, the actual product on the court.
I said nothing about building a team being easy.

thats because championships are built on superstars
why u think the west is stacked when compared to the east
look at the amount of stars+superstars on those teams
telling people to focus on TEAM winning titles is an anomaly and far more difficult to reproduce
spurs have 2-3 superstars depending how u rate parker and ginobili
and it still took them 7 years to get another title
