Carmello is Either Going Back to Knicks or Going to Bulls

It would be a huge upset if he landed anywhere else.

If that is true, then it means one thing.

Lebron isn't going back to Miami...

their was no chance he was leaving the Knicks to begin with. He simply isn't gonna leave that much money on the table, He opted out to get the guaranteed longterm contract a year earlier.

Heat have shown interest in Isaiah Thomas, Pau Gasol, Anthony Morrow, Marvin Williams, Vince Carter, Shawn Marion and Caron Butler. It would be nice if they get at least two of them, but no real superstars left.

Would be shocked if he signed with the Bulls as he's never been about actually seriously winning compared to getting paid and being the main man in NYC.

Anthony is about himself and all the wants his money losing or winning means nothing to him

Those guys the heat are interested are not changing that team

Vince Carter a proven loser every team he's been on his whole career

Pretty much, wasn't much of a chance he ever left. He just wants them to bring in some help.

I don't care how much you want to win, you don't leave millions on the table when your career could be over at any point and you only work into your 30's.

They have the best defense in the league and a hole at small forward. Anthony fills the missing link in the Bulls line-up. The Bulls won 48 games last year with Hinrich and Augustin as the point guard rotation. Even if Rose didn't play and the Bulls sign Anthony, they probably win 55. With Anthony and a healthy Rose, they will be the #1 seed in the East. I believe Anthony takes the 129 million in NY and wastes away for the rest of his career.

33 million reasons to lock a deal up in NY. Amare off books after this season and NY can fill roster.

People keep bringing up money, its not the end all be all, mind you Melo has been rich for a long time, been in the league a long time and is far acquainted with what losing feels like. There is alot to be said about happiness, money cant buy that, winning helps alot, I wish he would go to Chicago, but probably wont if he has wife in mind and her career.

Yep, more money and just one year away from bringing in the top free agent. NY will be fine, just need two or three years to be a true contender. Melo will stay and Phil will make it happen.

i think anthony would be a good fit and jumpstart the offense. but the only other options are augustin and heinrich. im not sold on augustin. boozer is not impressive either. guy plays first 3 quarters and sits out the entire 4th in most games. noah has great emotion and defense/rebounding. but phsyically needs to get stronger if he is gonna contend with guys like blake griffin or Nene.

Would you not take as much money as you can get in your job?

You can paint a house for 200 or 500, I guess you would take the 200 as long as it.....who knows. Nothing would make you choose that over the more money.

Anthony does not want to win

He will prove it when he chooses the Knicks

They have zero shot to get to any 2nd round of playoffs

All he has proven is he can lose with any team he is on and he can score

    Nothing else

Not much difference in 15 mil to 25 mil.

Big difference if you make $10/hour vs $50/hour

A lot of guys would rather take 15 million with a chance at a ring than 25 million from a non-contender. Once you start talking those kind of numbers, there is no difference in your lifestyle either way.

Boozer is gone. Hinrich and DJ are both free agents. Noah doesn't have to contend with Griffin. He's in the West and may never get out of the West playoffs. Noah is the last guy on that roster I would be worried about. They are a go to guy down the stretch from being able to dethrone Miami.

Don't know if this is true,I was reading on some site that Noah tried to recruit him to the Bulls and he wasn't interested. If he was any sort of competitor he would have been licking his chops at the prospect.

And now the Lakers are also in contention.

    Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
Yahoo Sources: Lakers make move into serious contention for free agent Carmelo Anthony, joining Knicks and Bulls.

Lakers move into contention to sign Carmelo Anthony

so if he joins the Lakers they will have Kobe at 20+ mil, Melo at 20+ mil, and get another guy at around 20 mil. Then those three will play 47-48 min. a piece each game, and play 3 on 5 basketball cause no more money will be left to spend on players.

no idea boozer is gone. thanks for the heads up. augustin def shows offensive prowess. no questioning noah, but doesnt supply no offense. and hes kinda small for a center against guys like nene and hibbert .
not knocking noah though. guy has heart.

Whatever you guys say. Let's leave 10 mil on table....Unreal, they have about 15 or so years to make money and with taxes and agents, you don't just take less money. NY can build around him just as well as any other place he goes to but I guess you guys would let millions go.
