    Not a fair comparison.

    Pure basketball is Pop. NBA requires a ton of motivational skills and Jackson was the best.

    Pop has done it in different ways, grind it out half court game and uptempo spread it out style. Pop adapts to what he has and makes it work.

    I'm biased but give me Phil all day.

    Pop has my 100% respect and easily one of the guys I'd tell my kids about. I just think Phil is at the top and will be for a long long time.

    You could argue that the superstars that Jackson coached made him.

    On the flip side,you could argue that Parker and Ginobli wouldn't have become half the stars that they did without Pop. Duncan was gonna be a star no matter who coached him.

    Gotta give the coaching nod to Pops easy.

    Interesting debate.

    Everyone says Phil Jackson had superstars, but sometimes those are the hardest ones to coach. Shaq and Kobe hated each other, and still won titles. They didn't win any before him. Same with Michael Jordan, he didn't even sniff the finals until Jackson arrived.

    I don't really think there is a wrong answer between the two coaches.

    It was a great run for Pop. I don't think he'll win anymore championships. Yes, San Antonio had an amazing playoff team this year. This won't ever happen again. Pop even knows it. Miami just wasn't hungry enough and didn't match up well with the Spurs.

    You can argue Jackson had plenty of superstars... but you still have to coach them in different areas of the game. I personally don't know how Jackson does it. Looks like just a simple guy. I know Jackson had more firepower than Pop... but you still have to coach that firepower. My pick would be Jackson.

    Lol, Tim Duncan might be the best power forward/center in the history of the NBA and Parker one of the best PGs and future hall of famer... and you are blaming Phil for having great players and Pop for winning with nobodies? Pop and Phil are both great coaches with systems and styles that can make great players play within a system. But both require great players.

    I'd take Pop hands down. To me, winning another ring at this stage of Duncan's career is pretty remarkable. The guy is one hell of a coach and also a great talent evaluator who knows how to make everything work without the ability to go out and buy the 'best' players.

    I don't know if I'd go that far. Phil somehow got a lot of egomaniac superstars to work together. That takes more than getting the more pedestrian stars to "buy in."

    I'm a huge Pops fan and think Jackson is vastly overrated, but I'll give credit where credit is due when it comes to this.
