How fast can two # 1 picks change a teams fortunes? Look at this Spurs breakdown.....

a little long but I felt it was worth posting. Let's see if Cleveland can replicate another small market team that turned everything around after a three year draft run...

Cleveland just got the #1 pick for the second year in a row. I wanted to show the younger posters how huge that has been before in NBA history. A perfect example is the San Antonio Spurs. Most people on SBR know the Spurs as perennial winners. Well until a fortuitous three year years in the draft that was not the case. In 1986 the Spurs were awful and got the 1987 # 1 pick. lucky for the spurs the #1 pick david Robinson had one more year in the US navy so he didn't report . Therefore they stunk again and got a top ten pick in 1988 and the #3 pick in 1989. So three high picks in a row and they went from Averaging over 55 losses a year to immediately averaging over 55 wins a year!!!! They IMMEDIATELY AND PERMANENTLY TURNED THE CORNER. DESPITE BEING SMALL MARKET THEY HAVE BEEN A POWER EVER SINCE .

Embiid has bust written all over him. Last years #1 Bennett already a bust as well as their is no way he lives up to the potential of a #1 pick.

If you take anyone ahead of Wiggins, that GM doesn't have a job in 3 years.

I would take Jabari Parker first. That guy is a stud.

I'm a big Duke/Parker fan, but Wiggins ceiling is as high as it gets in this draft. Parker reminds me a little of Glenn Robinson. He's gonna score, but I don't think he's ever going to develop defensively. Embids back issues would scare me away as a GM.

A few guys I really respect in talk radio are scared to death of wiggins. They say he vanishes in any real spot and are killing him for ncaa tournament. I did notice that Kansas has two of the top three prospects in the draft. Amazing they lost as a two seed in second round of NCAA tourney to a ten seed Stanford that then immediately lost the next round by double digits. I can see why people are scared if these guys TOGETHER can't get out of the opening week of the tournament are they going to help an NBA team anytime soon?

In case you missed it, which you obviously did, Embid did not play in the tourney.
