Russell Westbrook Knee Injury May Not Be as Bad as Feared

    Per Rotoworld:

Russell Westbrook (knee) said after Friday's game that he would not miss any time after spraining his right knee and that he's not feeling any pain.

Well then. The must-add recommendation on Reggie Jackson is probably a bit strong following this turn of events, but we're not sure how he sprains the knee and doesn't get the kid glove treatment by the Thunder. Then again, the team has constantly put him on the floor ahead of timetables and though it hasn't gone all that well the team is hell bent on getting home court advantage.

OKC can win without Westbrook in the reg season and 1st round, they will not win without him beyond that when the competition increases. No matter how you cut it, he's a top 10 player and all star on any team.

    Westbrook slows Durant down

I would actually trade him next year, plenty of guys that can fill his shoes and be just as effective and blend better with Durant

Jackson is just as much of a shot chucker as Westbrook but lacks his passing (when he wants to pass that is). Only reason I doubt they would be as good in the long run without Russ. Best scenario is getting him to change his game which will never happen or it would of happened already

ha, without westbrook you will see durant wear down as the playoffs progress. people say oh you can't stop durant. sure, for a game here and there. but without a star second option like westbrook to score the ball and defend, durant doesn't stand a chance of winning okc a ring.

JJ, OKC cannot win the games that matter without Westbrook. Memphis proved this last year. Granted OKC is in a better position to win in the second round without him this year as they've played most of the season without RW, they will not get past the conference finals and will certainly not win a championship without him.

With him, they'd still be the dog in the finals but at least they'd get there and have a shot.

I would say OKC is better off without an injured Westbrook. But if he can be full strengh by mid playoffs they will in the running to beat the heat or pacers

Ya, I completely agree with that Otters. I just hope this injury does not continue to be a reoccurring one. But for such an explosive player, like DRose, knee injuries are daggers.

An MRI on Saturday confirmed Russell Westbrook sustained no further damage to his knee during Friday's game.

He dodged a bullet here and his statement from Friday saying this injury won't force him out of action might hold up. Westbrook is still going to sit out of some back-to-back sets, so he should be considered questionable for Monday with a game coming up on Tuesday.

Most intelligent post in thread. Plus I really want to see him play against Beverly in a best of 7 game series. He'll spike ball off his face.

Durrant is too young to wear down which is why they can get by without Westbrook

Deep down Durrant would love to see Westbrook leave he just plays the game though.

I do not think it really matters because nobody is beating the Spurs

I think that the Thunder can beat the spurs. The only things is that I think that the Thunder is better off without Westbrook.

Those two would trade punches at some point. Ditto for Perk/Ibaka vs Howard. Probably would be a highly entertaining series.

Westbrook could be back tonight vs. Dallas after missing just the one game last night.

Every Western conference series should be great. Would love to see Spurs-Mavs, OKC-Golden State, Clippers-Grizz, Houston-Portland.

Let's not talk about the East though.

Yep, mentioned in Post #30. He wasn't lying when he said it was no big deal, was only a sprain.
