Jimmer Fredette set to sign with Chicago Bulls

Former Sacramento Kings guard Jimmer Fredette has told the Chicago Bulls he will sign with them if he clears waivers, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the negotiations.
Fredette, who was drafted 10th overall out of Brigham Young in 2010, was bought out by the Kings this week and has yet to clear waivers. That is likely to happen at 5 p.m. EST Saturday, at which point Fredette would be free to sign. Because Fredette was waived before March 1, he will be eligible to be on the Bulls' playoff roster. They are currently 32-26 and in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
The third year guard has a career average of seven points and 1.5 assists. For the Kings this season, he was averaging 5.9 points in 11 minutes. He was shooting 48 percent from the floor and 49 percent from three point range.

Has anyone noticed that the Bulls went 21-7 in January and February?

Noah and Gibson have really powered the team and Augustin runs the team well. Butler back to how he played late last year after dealing with early injuries this season. Whether he stays or not, if Jimmer is capable then playing for the Bulls can only help his career. Nobody teaches D and gets more out of players than Thibodeau.

I'm undecided on whether this will help the team, by taking minutes from a guy like Snell. The Bulls offense does tend to get wings open shots though, and Jimmer can certainly knock em down. So it could work some.

Good signing by the Bulls. They are one of the few teams that can cover his lack of D.

Or maybe he even teach him how to play Bulls D. The key is the way the Bulls play D they don't need each individual to be a great defender. They need to have some, and they do, but they move and cover for each other and play team D. Don't have to be a special individual defender. If he's willing, he can do it, and he'll help spread the O. Augustin is very clever in getting the ball in good position for open shooters.

It's probably inveitable regardless, but if any team in the East poses the biggest threat to a Heat/Pacers ECF, it's the Bulls.

I think Jimmer has a lot of untapped potential, he can ring up some three's for the Bulls if this goes through.

Defense is playing great offense can pick up their scoring a little. Most of their games still go under even though they win

Can't get his own shot off the dribble in NBA. Needs to realize he'll only be an open look spot up guy to have a long career.

I think they had an extra vacant roster spot when they didn't renew Varnado's expired 10-day contract. Better question is who's minutes he takes. Probably means we'll see Tony Snell play less.

They have actually now topped 100 points in five of their last six games. I think they topped 100 something like nine times in their first 53 games before that and they needed overtime to even do that a few times.

Dunleavy is more like Korver. Fredette is smaller and handles the ball more.

Yeah, I mean really, he's sort of more potentially like a Ben Gordon.

From Snell, Dunleavy and Butler. I don't think he'll get more than 10-15, but not for at least a few weeks and he gets some practices under his belt and learns the system.

More like small mans version. Dunleavy is EIGHT inches taller. So they're completely different players.

Think he is trying to say they are both white guys who can hit open shots and play zero d.

that is going to be his biggest problem playing good D. the bulls are built on that and he is not a great defender
