Thursday Sports Betting Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

    By Doug Upstone

Here are the latest line lines for Thursday in all the major sports. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

    NBA – (505) NEW YORK at (506) MIAMI 8:05 E TNT

The Heat might be 21-4 at home but there 9-16 ATS mark is always a cause for concern and those betting on basketball have lowered Miami from -11 to -9. Of course New York is far from trustworthy with their recent 2-11 (4-7 ATS) record, however, they do have weapons (ask Raymond Felton). Off the Knicks last second two-point loss to Dallas, they are 11-2 ATS in road games after a defeat by six or fewer points. Nonetheless, Miami spread mark tends to go in streaks since the Big 3 was formed and they are 4-0-1 ATS of late. Doug's Take – Miami covers

    NBA – (507) BROOKLYN at (508) DENVER 10:35 E TNT

This line is worth watching today, since it has already been all over the place. Brooklyn opened as two-point favorite, slipped all the way to a one-point underdog and within 30 minutes was back to one-point favorite. Obviously there is uncertainty about both teams as the Nets have been alternating wins and losses thus far on their road trip after five tries and Denver is on a Rocky Mountain low at 1-8 SU and ATS since Feb. 7. Looks like a heads or tails call! Doug's TakeSlight lean on Brooklyn

    CBB – (551) TEMPLE at (552) LOUISVILLE 9:00 E ESPN2

It’s the end of February which means Louisville is playing outstanding basketball like they always do this time of year under Rick Pitino. The defending champs are frolicking through the AAC with a 10-1 (6-4-1 ATS) record since Jan. 12 and they are being pounded by those making college basketball picks, up from -20 to -22.5 against lowly Temple. Off their one-point win at Cincinnati as four-point faves, the Cardinals are 13-3 ATS off a no-cover where they won straight up as a favorite the last two seasons. Doug's Take – Lean Louisville

    NHL – (55) COLUMBUS at (56) NEW JERSEY 7:05 E FSOH, MSG2

Columbus and New Jersey begin their quest to move up and secure a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Thus far hockey bettors are convinced the Blue Jackets are the more attractive play, taking them from +125 to under +110. Columbus has won all three matchups this season, but the Devils have won five of their previous seven on home ice and are 18-10 revenging a loss in which they were a home favorite. New Jersey needs to start peppering the net with more shots since they are last in the NHL in attempts at 26.1. Doug's TakeNew Jersey wins

    NBA ATS Trend

Milwaukee is 12-30 ATS playing against a team with a winning record in the second half of the season since 2012.

    NHL Totals Trend

San Jose is 9-2 UNDER revenging a loss where opponent scored five or more goals the last three seasons.

    CBB ATS Trend

Marshall is 0-11 ATS after allowing 60 points or less since last season.
