SBR will give the winner of the March Basketball Parlay of the Day Contest a sparkling new 19-inch LCD DVI Monitor! For those of you unfamiliar with the contest, here are the rules:


Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok. You have until five minutes before tip time of your first game to post the selections. Also note that all plays will now be graded against a uniform line! I will post the lines from Pinnacle at approximately 11 AM ET each day. Those of you wishing to make selections before then may do so without posting your lines, and they will be graded against my posted lines.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will keep two sets of standings: the Official Standings will be based on parlay units won/lost, and the secondary standings will be on a game-by-game basis ranked by winning percentage.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

The player with the most units won after the games of March 31 will win the winner-take-all grand prize. Note that you must play at least 15 days (30 plays) during the month to qualify for the prize! In case of a tie in units, the tiebreaker will be the better winning percentage. If still tied, the contest will be extended with the tied players making one parlay selection per day at the start of April until the tie is broken. NO PASSES will be allowed during this extension period, and any of the tied players doing so will be eliminated regardless of the other player(s) results for that day.

Tie breakers:
Will be decided by win % of individual parlay legs. 2nd tiebreaker is based on additional daily parlays until one person breaks tie.

15 parlays must be made in the month.

All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.

SBR will pick a DVI LCD monitor that is features on this page when winner is decided.

Cleveland Cavaliers -2: Still not sold on Indiana playing better ball as of late, I expect all the Cavs to show up tonight and win by double digits.

Lakers/Grizzlies Over 220.5: Kobe put up 50 the last time these two teams met, and now with Odom and Walton back, I look for this game to exceed the 230 mark. (hopefully mike miller is a go).

Both teams are coming off losses on Sunday. The cavs are thinking about playoff seeding and should look sharp tonight.

Mississippi State has blown out everyone they've played so far in the NIT. I see them holding West Virginia in check tonight from beyond the arc leading them to victory.

Cavaliers/Pacers Under 180.5: This game looks like a trend-lovers wet dream, as the Under is now an astounding 42-13 in the last 55 Cavalier games inside the Central Division, as well as 12-2 the last 14 times Indiana has been an underdog. Not surprisingly, the Under is 8-1 in the last nine head-to-head meetings between these clubs, including a perfect 4-0 here in Indiana. Finally, neither offense is tearing things up right now, with the Cavs averaging 91.0 points on 42.0 percent shooting in the last five games and the Pacers averaging a poor 89.2 points over this same stretch.

Mavericks/Hornets Over 196.5: The Hornets have been both scoring and allowing points in bunched lately, and as a result the Over is now 17-5-1 in their last 23 games. In fact they are both scoring and allowing over 100 points per game over the last five games, with a whopping combined average score in those contests of 211.0 points! Granted much of Dallas’s success has been keyed by improved defense, but they are averaging 99.0 points offensively in the last five games, and they may approach 110 points here if New Orleans continues their recent style of play. Do not be surprised if both teams top the century mark here for an easy Over. Footnote: I know I am stuck with the contest line with Dirk now questionable and the real total down to 194, but this play stands.

Since MEMPHIS won't be good for 100.....should be a similar scenario to MEM @PHO last night. Never gone over 210 last 9 @LAL vs MEM. Game that hit 210 MEM only scored 89, makes me think what today will look like.....LAL maybe putting up 115-118.

DAL/NO Under196.5
Their last 5 meetings here have not exceeded 185. Line is high due to recent scores from both teams. DAL at the end of a long rd trip, will probably want to slow this one up some, & I think what DAL wants it gets.
