Monday Sports Betting Line Moves and Today’s Top Trends

    By Doug Upstone

The Celtics are falling favorites in Brew Town with the news Rajon Rondo is listed as ‘doubtful’. Otherwise, here are Monday’s biggest line moves thus far. As we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

    NBA – (711) PHILADELPHIA at (712) GOLDEN STATE 10:35 E CSN-P, CSN-BA

The Warriors are expected to be without David Lee and possibly Andrew Bogut as they try to avoid their third loss in four games, but those betting basketball seem to care less. Philadelphia has lost six in a row and if you had the Sixers and 44 points against the Clippers last night, you lost. The 76ers were discomfitured 123-76 in L.A. and they are 3-16 and 5-14 ATS since Jan. 6 and can take comfort the All-Star break is almost here. Golden State opened as 13.5-point favorite and is up to -14.5 or higher. While this is a boatload of points, Philly is 3-15 ATS after allowing 105 points or more in three straight games this season. CBB – (723) MIAMI-FL at (724) FLORIDA STATE 7:00 E ESPN

This ACC matchup might fit the criteria for “Rivalry Week” on the worldwide leader, but this is mostly a weak contest. Miami’s only win in their last six outings was against Norfolk State, which barely qualifies as a W, while Florida State has sputtered of late at 2-5 and 1-6 ATS. The Seminoles won the earlier matchup 63-53 as one-point road underdogs, which makes it bewildering why they have fallen from -6.5 to -5 point home faves, especially when you consider the Hurricanes have shot under 40 percent on five of the last eight games, while the Noles convert on over 48 percent at home. CBB – (735) TOWSON at (736) UNC-WILMINGTON 7:00 E

The home team has yet to post a victory in Colonial Athletic Association action at 0-10 (3-6-1 ATS) when it faces second place Towson. Yet, it is the Seahawks who have caught the eye of those making basketball picks, being lowered from +4.5 to +3. The belief has to be Towson will not take Wilmington seriously and overlook them, especially with a bigger conflict at William & Mary next. Also, the Tigers have been anything by tough on the road at 3-7 and 3-4 ATS. Nevertheless, Towson would certainly seem to be able to overcome one long distance shot to over on the road against a team that is 1-7 ATS after scoring 60 or fewer points. Doug's TakeTowson covers

    Doug's Trendy Trends

    NBA ATS Trend

Indiana is 27-8 ATS off a road loss the last two seasons.

    CBB ATS Trend

Georgetown is 9-0 ATS in February games the last two seasons.

I don't see how some people/cappers are eating up Wilmington +3 tonight.. other than "They have to win at some point, why not tonight". I don't believe they have covered at home yet this season.

Towson is a much better team. I'm continuing to hope the line falls to -2 by tip. It does always scare me that Towson is the #1 public bet tonight - but again, just another reason for people to lean against them.
