Do The L.A. Clippers Need Chris Paul Anymore?

No one is even talking about the guy. No one can take LA down. Unreal. I say just trade him. Release him. Whatever.

CP may not have done anything yet in the playoffs, but if this team as currently constructed is ever going to have any success in anything meaningful, CP will have to be a BIG part of it.

Money, did you just suggest they release him?
Yeah, I guess he has absolutely no trade value.

This is the clippers we're talking about.

Their fans are happy when they finish over .500 on the season. Asking for post-season success seems greedy.

Him and Blake might be two of the most overhyped players in the NBA. Considering it's the NBA, where everything and everyone is overhyped - that's quite the accomplishment.

They've been over 500 the last 2 seasons as well as to the 2nd round of playoffs. I think their fans are looking for post season success by now.

Clips are like Cubs fans. Always waiting for the floor to fall out from underneath them. They enjoy any success they find with absolutely zero expectations.

Griffin is massively improved, the Clippers have been one of the better teams this year and he has been comfortably their best player.

Ppl keep calling him overrated but he's not the name you see plastered all over the NBA, and his game has improved year over year. Last year his FT's and perimeter shot and this year his 3pt game. Dude spends a lot of time shave the rough edges unlike most players. I also like how you call them soft. Would love to hear how they are soft, though I doubt you even have an answer for that...

That's retarded logic. Toronto is 4th in the East right now. Indiana gave up 111 to Sacramento last night who is 14th in the West, what does that make Indy? A mediocre team? Please stop commenting.

Great comparison. A team that hasn't won a championship in 105 years and a team that's only existed for 30 years, a time span where only 8 franchises have won the NBA title. As a neutral bystander towards both those teams, neither fanbase are even remotely alike.

And if you think the Clips don't need CP3, you should stop watching NBA. But please keep betting. How else would Vegas build new towers?

Haven't watched NBA since LeBron flopped his way to a title.

Refs rewarding acting over playing the game. Fukk that.

30 years vs 100 = still an entire existence of futility.

But you're right. Comparing the Clips to the Cubs is a disservice to the Cubs. Clips ownership is a disgrace.

The first line you typed explains why you have such a distorted view of the clips. You are speaking in 2013 with facts from pre 2010. The clips have the 5th highest payroll and two of the youngest stars in the league.

The reason we sucked was not donald sterlings lack of expertise it was his undying loyalty to elgin Baylor.
We finally gave up that worthless VP of operations Baylor after 22 years , only two of which were winning seasons and we won a grand total of one playoff series in those 22 years. You know how Elgin thanked the clips for sticking with him for 22 years where we went 607-1153? He sued saying he was fired because of his age and race. Of course the fool lost in court, the vote was unanimous .

This is a new era in LA and it won't be an era the lakers enjoy.

Paul is one of them and over paid, Reddick is much more important to clippers than Paul

Do you watch basketball??? CP3 is the best PG in basketball it aint his fault he had my cousin vinny as his head coach the past 2 seasons and his road dog is soft ass blake griffen (whos a Fn beast now thank you doc rivers) who kept getting bodied by zbo and duncan. Now doc rivers is the coach and jordan and griffen play with and edge and they will have post season success watch.

They dont need reddick as much as paul tho. Paul runs that team like a machine and he takes over in the big games. Paul/griffin wont be beat by anybody but okc thats the western conference finals imo

    q. who the clippers have beat since hes been out

    a. no one

spurs and pacers both beat that ass without him. best win probably a home win against dallas, maybe the road ones against bulls and raptors.

you can still say he doesnt win shit in the playoffs, but hard to argue that they are "better without him"

Ppl who think CP3 is just an average player clearly have no understanding of basketball IQ. Paul is one of the most dominant players in his role in the NBA today, and he only makes the Clips better when he plays, not better without him.

For all the posts in this thread you guys forgot to mention the reason why the LAC are playing so good without CP3. Jamal Crawford has taken over averaging in the 20's which we all knew he could do but he has turned into more of a passer and hes racking up assists.
