Spurs have no shot of winning more than one series in the Playoffs this year

Last year was the final run. They gave a hell of an effort and would have won if not for the miraculous 3 by Ray Allen but their ship has sailed.

I give Popovich, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili and the whole crew a ton of credit for lasting as long as they did. They probably should have burned out long before 2014 but it's clear to me that the run is over for these guys.

Detractors and trolls will come in here with "best record in the NBA" crap but all of that is meaningless. Pretty sure they had the best record in the league 3 years ago before getting their asses handed to them by the 8 seed Grizzlies in the first round. They might go and win 60 games again this year but it doesn't really matter. They have shown plenty of signs that the rest of the contenders have caught up. The younger, more athletic Thunder, Clippers, Blazers, Rockets, and Warriors will all prove to be too much in a 7 game series.

It's been a while since the Spurs could hang their hats on their defense but these days they can't stop anyone. That's what happens when you are too old/slow to close out and help on D.

San Antonio could win a round this year but that's it. I'll bump this thread down the road.

Dude...Spurs have constantly proven they can beat anyone at anytime. They should easily coast to the WCFs...and it won't even be close man.

Agreed they are done. Pop should've hung it up end of last season. They are AWFUL vs these speedy athletic teams and that's pretty much all the west is. They just don't have it anymore and seem to have lost the hunger anyhow. How can you compete when your best guys can barely even play 30-35 mins ? Can't even play b2bs. As soon as they get down by like 15 pop just throws in the towel and let their bench get fed to the wolves.

Fortunately they have some solid young guys behind them at least.

Durant for mvp BTW. Guys just too good

Last year was always going to be a tough year for OKC coming off the Finals loss and Harden trade but once Westbrook went down, it opened the door wide open for San Antonio. They took advantage and made it to the Finals and gave it their best but came up just a hair short.

No because now the thunder have some role players who are more comfortable than last year.

OKC still needs Westbrook to make a run but they are much better off with regards to their supporting cast.

With westbrook the thunder made the finals in 2012. Without westbrook the thunder are not going to the nba finals maybe not even the west conf finals

Westbrook will be fine. They're being extra cautious with him because the organization finally learned they need to pace the team for the playoffs.

Theyd better bring him back well before the playoffs so the team can re-learn how to play with him in the lineup because if they bring him back to close to the playoffs it wont work

I'm not so sure about Westbrook. I don't know exactly what's wrong with his knee but he cuts so fukking hard and that just puts so much tension on his knee, he may always be fragile. His surgeon needs to be publicly lynched. The guy is not doing himself any favors. Who's gonna say "Ya, send me to Westbrooks surgeon, he only needed 3 of them to get back to normal"

You clearly dont watch the game. Everytime they face a decent team this season, they get beaten.

Ha, more optimistic now than the quick negative reaction earlier in the year huh? Okc is the fave to come out of west. San Antonio will be ready to challenge

Only the grizzles give every team in the playoffs a challenge. Hope from okc down to the 8th seed that Memphis doesn't make the playoffs. This is the one team that can legitimately pull an upset

three teams that can beat the spurs this year are blazers, thunder and warriors. saying that they won't make the wcf is not saying much because the wc is fierce this year and anybody can beat anybody. spurs are still a very good ball team with the best coach in the nba.

Some of their players like Leonard and Green have regress this season while the other teams young players like Beverley(Rockets) and Jackson(Okc) have improved.

    Same shit every year.
Everyone wants to be THE ONE to predict the Spurs to fall.
But EVERY YEAR, they kept getting it done.
Has to stop soon, but it won't be this year.

Business as usual for Poppabitch and the Spurs.

They might have lost to Golden State last year if the Warriors weren't playing with an injured Curry, and injured Bogut, and no David Lee.

It seems like this is just an attention thread. There are four teams that can win everyone else is just hanging out(Heat, Pacers, Spurs, Thunder). Spurs arent playing the the Thunder till the west championship, so thats two series theyre going to win. Come on dude, has the nba ever really had any element of surprise in the last 5 years

A defensive minded coach and an experience team stands no chance against a team like Houston that relies so heavily out perimeter shooting?????? Are you serious? Houston struggles against teams that play good perimeter defense. As for the Clippers, they are not elite, they cant win the big game because Paul needs to have the ball with 5 minutes to go and it bogs the whole offense down. I cant believe I even posted comments in this retarded thread
