    Orlando at Toronto

    Take Toronto -5½ vs Orlando

    Game Time: 3/21/2007 7:00:00 PM

The Toronto Raptors should rebound from their loss in New York with a win and cover at home against the Orlando Magic.

The Raptors look to rebound following an 18-point loss at New York in their last game.

Orlando (31-37) is only 3-8 against the spread off a win as the underdog this season, and 3-8 versus the numbers this season versus foes from the Atlantic Division. Toronto (36-31) is 18-12 against the spread when playing teams with losing records this season.

With the Magic in off a 14-point upset win, look for Toronto to improve to 6-0 against the spread in this series here tonight.

    Play: Raptors -5½

    Reap rewards with Raptors -5½

Toronto won't have problems tonight finding the bucket as they did in New York on Sunday. Ride the Raptors to a win and cover versus the Orlando Magic.

Orlando is coming off a road win at Miami, but trying to repeat that will be difficult as explained later.

The Magic are stuck in neutral as they have dropped 11 of 15 and 23 of 32 dating back to January 12. They started out as one of the hottest teams in the league but have fizzled since then, especially away from home. Orlando is 4-19 over its last 23 games on the road and there have been some ugly losses during that stretch. Those 19 defeats have been by an average of 8.9 ppg including the last nine by an average of 11.6 ppg.

Toronto returns home after suffering one of its worst outings at New York, but a bounce-back can be expected. The Raptors have now dropped two straight games and they have not lost three straight that included two home games since January 3, with that third defeat coming against Phoenix. Toronto is 23-10 at home, 24-15 in the Eastern Conference and now facing a team they have controlled. The Raptors have won six of the last eight meetings, covering seven of those including five in a row and five straight at home.

Orlando has not won back-to-back road games since late-November, early-December in Portland and Seattle respectively. As a matter of fact, the Magic have not won back-to-back games period since January 31-February 2 as they have lost six straight following a win and those defeats have been by a putrid 12.5 ppg. This is a revenge game for the Magic, but avenging a defeat on the road is not easy especially given the fact that Orlando is 21-41 against the spread in its last 62 games revenging a road loss against opponent of 10 points or more.

The Raptors shot 34.2 percent against the Knicks including 9.5 percent from behind the arc. With them being such a good shooting team, those percentages were just an aberration and Toronto will improve significantly as they have in the past. Over the last two seasons, Toronto is 12-2 against the spread after a game where they made 20 percent or worse of their long range shots and heading home will help that even more as the Raptors are 25-9 against the spread after playing a road game this season. Toronto gets it done and wins big. Play Toronto for 1½ units.

    Play: Raptors -5½

    Magic, Raptors Over 195

The over is the play this evening at the Air Canada Centre where the Toronto Raptors host the Orlando Magic.

This is an NBA situation I love.

On one hand you have a team (Toronto) that scored 90 or more in five straight games before being held to less than 90 in their most recent game. On the other hand, you have a team (Orlando) that allowed more than 90 in five straight games before allowing less than 90 in its most recent game. When this situation occurs and the posted total is less than 200, the over shows up a lot more often than the under does.

    Prediction: Total Points = 210

    Play: Magic-Raptors Over 195
