good-morning everyone,

first off i'm so glad i found this forum... well i have a question when it comes to POINT SPREADS...

do my team have to win for me to win?

Example:

-8½ - TEAM 1
+8½ - TEAM 2


so if i bet on team 2 and they lose the game, can i still win as long as they cover the SPREAD?

or

if team 1 loses although they are favored and still cover the spread do i still win?

Team 2 can lose by 8 and still win your bet.

Team 1 has to win by 9 or more for the bet to win.

CT- First off, I would like to welcome you to the forum... Here at SBR you will find some of the FINEST CAPPERS of games around! These guys have soo much knowledge and the ability to break games down to the smallest piece possible... In your example, I think you must have mispoke in your statement about team 1 losing... It is not possible for team 1 to lose being favored and still cover the spread... We'll give you a MULLIGAN on that one bro... If you take team 2 +8.5 and they lose by 8 points then you win the bet... I can see where the confusion comes from as we all were new at this at some point... Everyone has to learn and if you have any questions there are plenty of people on here that would be more than glad to help you out... Just a word of advice- THE BOOKS ARE PRETTY SHARP AND WOULDN'T BE IN BUSINESS IF THEY WEREN'T MAKING MONEY OFF OF FOLKS LIKE YOU AND I! BE CAREFUL, BE VERY CAREFUL!

so the favor not only has to WIN but cover the spread...

the non-favored can WIN or LOSE as long as the spread is covered...
