...so, how long before laker fans tun on Kobe?

as it stands presently.. the Lakers are above .500

and D'Antoni is looking much better coaching a spotty roster.
but what happens when Kobe returns?
...and people are confronted with the reality*of what Kobe has become,
and what his MASSIVE contract extension represents for the future of the Lakers.

We have all seen the footage of Kobe practicing..
but it is comically clear that nobody dares touch him, or trip him or interfere with his actions in any way..
if a player should unintentionally cause Kobe to re-injure himself in practice in anyway,
he would be drawn and quartered in front of the Staples Center that night.

Over time, when it becomes apparent that Kobe contributes very little,
and their win percentage actually goes down, and how financially restricted they have become...

the question i ask is: "when will Laker fans turn on Kobe?" (the L.A. Media already has)

I fully expect the Kobe-tards to be in effect chanting "M-V-P----M-V-P"*if he should approach the Free Throw line... (even though he barely edged out Chris Paul for his lone award in a 17 yrs)

but when will the reality set in..?..
when the Lakers post a losing percentage AFTER he returns?..
when nobody big comes in the summer of 2014?
(and no, that playoff choking loser "Carmelo" does not count as a great FA signing)*

Kobe's real time opponents will not be playing with the kid-gloves that we have seen in practice this far...
i expect that it will relatively quickly become apparent what a tremendous mistake
it was to extend Kobe as the NBA's highest paid player though 2016
without ever seeing play in an actual NBA game post-injury. (wow. what a gaffe)

in the next month, or less, i expect that it will become relatively clear
that the game has passed Kobe by, and that the future looks
quite dim on the immediate horizon for the Lakers...

but how long will the Kobe-tards light the torches, and beating the war drums?

when will the reality of the circumstances set in..?

or am i dead-wrong and Kobe comes back great like Dominique Wilkins?..

    what do people think?*

Kobe is coming back today and everyone is talking about Kobe's 81 points on Toronto like it was last year. He was a different player in 2006 and not to mention Toronto had a different squad.
This return is way over hyped just like Droses. I would like to see him prove us wrong but I doubt it.

    never

"Boston fans have a similar devotion to Paul Pierce, though it is perhaps less fierce than the grip the NBA's Lord Voldemort has on his Death Eaters. " Zach Lowe, Grantland

i wil tell you what, though.

love Kobe or hate Kobe.. that dude generates viewers.

i wonder if this game is nationally televised.

if it is not, it should be, the ad revenue goes up instantly with Kobe in a game

Ratzz...I am afraid the answer is a resounding.....never.......we have to remember that a Kobe miss is the equivalent to a Gasol jumper.....they'd rather watch Kobe miss brick after brick than watch Meeks and Blake nail 3's..........as long as Kobe can physically play...they will continue to sing his praises...regardless of his performance or the outcome....on the court...the reality will only sink in if they do in fact miss the playoffs....and even then, the blame will be placed squarely on Gasol, Hill, Meeks, and D'antoni.....Kobe will walk...

Naturally, the game is on NBA TV........if they still had the NBA NBC coverage on Sundays like they used to..it would have been a primetime 3:00 pm slot which would have been a gold mine for the network...

    the practices are kid-gloves w/Kobe...

the NBA does not play kid-gloves.. this wil be a riot, i expect

i can't believe he called the extension "WIN-WIN" for both him AND the Lakers!! *

Lakers should tank pretty bad with Kobe back.

that nut-hugger conducting the interview is a joke

Ratzz...you see the play where Kobe is screaming at Gasol to leave the paint to set the screen..? Then he bobbles it and Gasol cleans up his mess and scores..?
