SBR will give the winner of the March Basketball Parlay of the Day Contest a sparkling new 19-inch LCD DVI Monitor! Keep in mind guys that I WANT to win this thing myself, so you all better bring your "A" games to beat me!!

For those of you unfamiliar with the contest, here are the rules:


Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok. You have until five minutes before tip time of your first game to post the selections. Also note that all plays will now be graded against a uniform line! I will post the lines from Pinnacle at approximately 11 AM ET each day. Those of you wishing to make selections before then may do so without posting your lines, and they will be graded against my posted lines.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will keep two sets of standings: the Official Standings will be based on parlay units won/lost, and the secondary standings will be on a game-by-game basis ranked by winning percentage.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

The player with the most units won after the games of March 31 will win the winner-take-all grand prize. Note that you must play at least 15 days (30 plays) during the month to qualify for the prize! In case of a tie in units, the tiebreaker will be the better winning percentage. If still tied, the contest will be extended with the tied players making one parlay selection per day at the start of April until the tie is broken. NO PASSES will be allowed during this extension period, and any of the tied players doing so will be eliminated regardless of the other player(s) results for that day.

Tie breakers:
Will be decided by win % of individual parlay legs. 2nd tiebreaker is based on additional daily parlays until one person breaks tie.

15 parlays must be made in the month.

All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.

SBR will pick a DVI LCD monitor that is features on this page when winner is decided.

Orlando here is coming off two bad losses, however charlotte is not a good team and orlando is still fighting hard to make the playoffs. Orlando will come into this game with something to prove.
Golden State +7.5
As explained in another post I have a great system play for this game. Dallas is coming in after playing late last night, when a road favorite plays back to back games and is favored in both, on the second night take the home dog. This play cashes in 80% of the time!

Magic/Bobcats Under 194.5: Orlando has been offensively challenged lately, averaging a lowly 87.8 points over the last five games. The Magic topped out at 99 points during this stretch, and they were held in the 70s in two of those contests. Now Charlotte has taken advantage of some teams that do not play defense lately (Memphis and Phoenix), but the fact remains that the Bobcats are averaging just 95.1 points per game at home this year. The Under is now 17-13 in all Charlotte home game and 18-14 in all Orlando road games, and we expect more of the same tonight.

Nets/Grizzlies Under 206.5: The Nets have now lost five consecutive games, thanks to an offense that has gone totally in the tank. New Jersey is averaging a pathetic 86.2 points per game on 41.6 percent shooting during this losing streak, with the Under understandably going 4-1. Now granted Memphis prefers an up-tempo style, but even if the Grizzlies match their home average of 204.5 points, that would not be enough to push this game Over if the Nets again struggle to get out of the 80s. The last two head-to-head meetings between these clubs here in Memphis produced just 150 and 173 points respectively, and we look for another rather easy Under in this spot.

Yes, that Nets/Grizz Under looks delicious to me. The Nets have been shotting the ball poorly (very poorly), and I just see a overall crappy game between these two. I think the Grizz probably win outright and NJ fails to hit 95.

Also, the GS/Dallas Under of 207 seems a bit high to me. Sure, GS likes to run, loves to put up points, but I think Dallas will slow it down enough to keep it under 207. I think this game is closer than people think, though in the end I see Dallas either covering or winning by 4-6 at least. Close game with Dallas struggling to reach 100= Under 207

Raps off two very lukewarm home wins; Bucks have been hanging in there against singificantly better opposition and should break out at home.

HOU +6.5

Huge test for the Rockets, who should come with everything and play as controlled a game as possible. For PHX, a big step up in class -- they should have all they can handle.

Memphis +2.5 The Nets are just awful right now and Memphis may have some momentum coming off their last win.

Houston/Phoenix o205.5 With Ming back the Rockets should be able to get over 100 against Phoenix's porous defence and the Suns should have no problem exce4eding that number also.

nets -2.5: memphis is a horrible team, look for the nets to get a much needed win tonight.

Charlotte +1.5 - Charlotte is a bad team no doubt about that, but Orlando is shaky as well, and I see a bounce back at home here after an embarrassing loss to Memphis.

Dallas/GS under 207 - Dallas seems to be back to a defense-oriented style of play, and GS may not have Baron Davis at full strength after he missed the last game. I just don't see a lot of explosiveness in this game, so the number should stay under the relatively generous total.

Memphis is averaging over 100 per game, but they're giving up nearly 106. I'm seeing a shootout in this one. Take the over.

Over is 14-3 in the last 17 meetings.
Over is 7-3 in DAL last 10 vs. NBA Pacific.
