SBR will give the winner of the March Basketball Parlay of the Day Contest a sparkling new 19-inch LCD DVI Monitor! Keep in mind guys that I WANT to win this thing myself, so you all better bring your "A" games to beat me!!

For those of you unfamiliar with the contest, here are the rules:


Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok. You have until five minutes before tip time of your first game to post the selections. Also note that all plays will now be graded against a uniform line! I will post the lines from Pinnacle at approximately 11 AM ET each day. Those of you wishing to make selections before then may do so without posting your lines, and they will be graded against my posted lines.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will keep two sets of standings: the Official Standings will be based on parlay units won/lost, and the secondary standings will be on a game-by-game basis ranked by winning percentage.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

The player with the most units won after the games of March 31 will win the winner-take-all grand prize. Note that you must play at least 15 days (30 plays) during the month to qualify for the prize! In case of a tie in units, the tiebreaker will be the better winning percentage. If still tied, the contest will be extended with the tied players making one parlay selection per day at the start of April until the tie is broken. NO PASSES will be allowed during this extension period, and any of the tied players doing so will be eliminated regardless of the other player(s) results for that day.

Tie breakers:
Will be decided by win % of individual parlay legs. 2nd tiebreaker is based on additional daily parlays until one person breaks tie.

15 parlays must be made in the month.

All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.

SBR will pick a DVI LCD monitor that is features on this page when winner is decided.

Wright St +1 - I like the +2 I played yesterday better but the points won't be needed here. You get the team playing better as of late, in a do or die situation, ATLEAST equal in talent, at home, and you get a point for good measure.

Idaho +6 - Honestly the main reason for this is I love the other one enough that I'll take a coin flip to make my parlay. Tailing a respected capper I know on this one.

RAPTORS/WIZARDS UNDER 210: The OVER may be 4-0 in the last four head-to-head meetings between these clubs, but we feel that has resulted in an inflated total in this spot. In fact inflated totals are nothing new for the Wizards, who have now gone UNDER in three consecutive games, all here at home. The average combined total of the last five Washington games overall is 195.7 points, nearly 15 points less than this posted total! As for the Raptors, the UNDER is a lucrative 20-11 in all Toronto road games this season, with an average combined total score in those games of only 195.4 points.

PRINCETON +8: This is a case where we feel that the huge motivational advantage for Princeton should be enough to keep this game competitive vs. a far more talented Penn team. Penn is the class of the Ivy League, but the Quakers have already sown up the league title and the automatic NCAA Tournament bid that goes with it with a 12-1 conference mark, so they can be forgiven for looking past this inferior opponent in the regular season finale. On the other hand this game is the SEASON for Princeton, as a victory over its biggest rival could help salvage a season in which the Tigers are a disappointing 11-16 to this point.

Seattle Supersonics +2: I expect to see a rested, motivated Sonics squad to play well with both their stars healthy.

San Antonio Spurs -6.5 Over the last 9 games, the Spurs have beaten opponents by an avergae of 18 ppg. Hard not to lay the points here against a bad, bad Portland squad.

Butler -1 Lost one to Wright St. this year but demolished them 73-42 in the other game. Imo Butler had a stronger schedule and beat the Zags early in the season.

San Antonio -6.5 Back to back road games, who cares, its Portland.

TCU +4.5 Both equally bad MW teams, I'll take the better rebounding team with the points in a game they could easily win outright.

Princeton +8 Princeton is horrible but this is senior night and 8pts is a lot in what should be a really low scoring game. Hopefully, Penn will be looking ahead to the tourney while this is Princeton's season because there is no comparison in the talent levels of these 2 teams.

Butler -1

These 2 split in the regular season. As I looked over both teams overall body of work this year, in my mind Butler is the superior team despite the fact that they haven't played as well lately as they did earlier in the season. I'll take the superior team -1



Northern Arizona -2

2 similar teams, 2 similar records. These 2 also split in the regular season with each winning on the others home floor. I've bet on the Lumberjacks succesfully a few times this year and I'm riding them again tonight. . .it also doesn't hurt that Montana is 2-8 ATS playing teams with winning records.

Toronto +4.5 and Tor/Wash under 210 - Only one of two times this season the Raptors play back to back games where the first game is on the road and the second is at home. In this case, tomorrow's home opponent is Memphis, the team with the worst record in the league, which takes a lot of pressure off tonight's game for Toronto.

Toronto has a 4 game lead in the Atlantic division, and with NJ starting a swing through Texas the next three games, if Toronto can win the next two nights and NJ loses as expected, they can take a real stranglehold on their division. I think for this reason they'll be going all out to win this game against the Wizards.

Since Toronto has only scored more than 106 points on the road twice this season, and since I think they have a huge shot at winning this one, I'm also going with the under here.

Portland +6.5--i hate going against my Spurs, but the second half of a back-to-back road stretch (also the 4th game in 5 days) worries me. Just seems like a letdown game for my Spurs, though I think they'll win... EDITED AT 4:20PM CST My official play is the UNDER of Penn/Princeton at 109.5. I'm leaving up the reasoning for my Blazers pick for anyone who may be interested, but I just noticed that the Penn/Princeton +/- was 109.5. Princeton has been held to under 45 points 4 times in the past 8 games (with the other 4 totals being 50, 51, 54, 55). Considering i also think Penn covers, I'm looking for a 58-46 type of game tonight.

Butler/Wright Over 117-Man, this is 3-4 buckets too low... I'm curious as to how this total was set at 117, but I'll happily take it.

Penn really has nothing to play for other than seeding, and this will be Princeton's final game. At home against their rivals, I expect a tough game.

Everybody and their brother is on the Spurs here, and I'm not really sure why. They are of course playing well, but they are an aging team, and this should be a difficult situation against a Portland team that remains somewhat tough at home.

TOR Raptors got a little full of themselves and then dropped two straight. With the extra off day they should be focused against Wiz team that stole one Sunday, has been struggling, and may lack urgency tonight.

NY Presume no David Lee for NY, which hurts them in many ways. Still, SEA is in a tough travel spot, after several tepid games on the other coast against bad clubs. Opposite is all true for NYK.

Dal: After watching new jersey do the unthinkable against Boston, including ignore Lawrence Frank twice in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, I will bet against them until they cover. Dallas just too good.

NYK OK no Lee, Crawford out for the year. But the Knicks are still playing decent ball. Add to the mix that Seattle is brutal on the road and did not look that impressive at home the last few games, and the Knicks should win.

Lakers +2: I don't understand why the Lakers are getting points here. Minnesota has been playing terrible as of late. I know that the Lakers haven't been playing great either, but I thought they looked alright against Phoenix. Anyways I can't stay away from this one. Lakers will win.

Weber St. -3: This is a home game for Weber State. They beat Portland State twice this year by double figures and will do it again at home tonight.

Weber State -3: Weber St. 15-7 ATS, including 8-1 ATS at home. The Cats were the best team in the conference during the regular season, and playing this tourney on their homecourt gives them a huge advantage in this spot.

Knicks -2: The Knicks are still in contention for a playoff spot in the East, and despite their injuries, I think they take care of business against the Sonics, who are 6-22 on the road. Seattle is also banged up, with Luke Ridnour out tonight and Ray Allen playing despite a bad ankle.

Weber St -3 - Weber St is hosting this game, and Portland St. has played poorly in Ogden historically. This is not likely to be the version of Weber St. where that changes.

Northern Arizona -2 - An important player for Montana is listed as questionable for this game, and Northern Arizona is a more complete team anyway. They should be able to pull this one out and advance in the tourney.
