RPI
Something I love watching throughout the year is the RPI of teams. This is the Ratings Percentage Index. Basically a Power Rating.

It does not take into account margin of victory but raw wins and losses on the road and at home. THEN it looks at the winning percentages of the teams THAT team has played and THEN it looks at the teams your opponents has played. So three levels of winning percentages.

It's way way early but looking at tonight's game the Clippers are 3rd in the league with an RPI of .644 while Miami is 16th at .514 Miami has been playing teams under .500 and THOSE teams have been playing teams under .500.

The Clippers have been playing winning teams who have been beating other winning teams.

I would LOVE to figure out how I can make this into some sort of point spread but it evades me. . . at the moment.

If one is a "C" game and one is a "A" game you can't just ignore the game but you can bet LESS on the "C" game. My plan is to post how much to bet on the "C" game and ignore the "A" game. Perhaps I'll post BOTH games just for informational purposes. There have been a couple like that already.

Remember Orlando was an S4 overtime fade since day one of the NBA this year. They can't go 82-0 ATS LOL can they??

A great system that I can't back test but you can watch is when a team shoots over .525 FG% play against them the next night.

Also because of canceling games (playing for AND against a team) that Orlando/Bost game was a "D" game in a system but with a tweak that I'm doing it was less stressful.

Another thought - When it comes to systems I feel where many people fail is they seem to stop using their brains and just bet like a monkey following a system. Your brain is a very very powerful tool and taking it out of play just seems wrong. I think people take their brains out of play because they are afraid of being wrong. When a system fails they blame the system and not themselves.

System explanation
S1 - When CERTAIN teams have winning or losing streaks of 3 games (ATS) chase that team as it will continue to win or lose 1 game in the next 4. I have 7 follow and 6 fading teams - not the same teams that Stifler had.

S4 - When a team plays an overtime game it will lose one game ATS in their next 4.

The S1 system in the last 10 years with these teams are 727-12 in chases for +505.6 units. Last year 54-1 for +35.55 units.
