Hello to all here at SBR. I have been reading some of these forums for a couple weeks and decided I would like to be a part of this. NBA is by far my favorite sport and favorite sport to bet. I started betting it with bookies back when I was 16, I am 24 now and I have improved over the years, but am trying to get better every day. From what I can tell there are some great basketball cappers on here and I feel I can benefit greatly from posting here. I will make a season long thread like I have currently seen on here. I hope to have the same success as my last few previous years and hopefully some great discussion with some of the better cappers on here. I don't play pre-season often, but I have had some early success, but when the NBA regular seson starts I will be posting plays with detailed write-ups. I have just a small parlay today to kick things off.
Philadelphia -5.5 (-150) and Denver -6 (-170)
I have been fading Washington all pre-season and teams on back to backs all pre-season. Also I think Denver is really gonna try to get a win tonight at 2-3, I know its pre-season but pre-season in the NBA is slightly more serious than NFL. Also with no Kevin Love Minnesota will miss out on some key rebounds. Also Washington without Antawn Jamison.
Well Philly shot too poorly early on and eventually were coming back from down 13 which is never a good thing when you got the favorite, Just one play today im taking NEW JERSEY -2(-150). I think New York used alot of energy last night beating Boston and New Jersey has yet to win a pre-season game, I think the Nets will be playing much tougher tonight I think.
Boston +6 (-150)
Dallas -6 (-170)
Houston +11 (-150)
I think Boston and Orlando will be plaing in the conference finals, I also don't thing Cleveland will be returning with the swagger they had last year. I like Boston to win straight up. Washington I thought was going to improve in the off season but didn't see any signs of that, the Mavericks are always a great home team and I am surprised at Marions #'s in the pre-season. Houston is shooting and making alot of 3's, I like them to keep this game close and maybe even get a big road win to start the season, leaning Lakers -9 but I make a killing every year betting against them at home, not every game, but often when they are big faves at home they never cover and I think the Clips will be improved this year.
Well Dallas decided not to run an offense last night and shoot contested J's with 20 sec on the shot clock, I though I was gonna go 3-0 last night which is why I paid so much juice. Oh well, onto today.
The Magic are gonna be on fire tonight and they will show everyone tonight why they will be playing in the conference finals. The addition of Bass is huge, he takes high % buckets, and is a hustler on the glass which will help Orlando to rebound that much better.
Also, the reason why I like that OVR with NY/MIA is obviously a Mike D'antoni offense against a Miami team that has one good defender, throw in Dwayne Wade I think this goes over, by a oyster hair, but Ovr. So just so I feel fancy I'm gonna post my plays in bold.
Nice hit on Chicago, wasnt sure about it but it hit and some other good cappers were on Chi (RoagBettor,Dexter). I'm gonna add POR -7.5 cause denver had trouble defending Utah at home, I think por wins by 9.
Should of stayed away from that Portland, I thought that number was way too high, I figured there had to be some info about he game I didn't know but the game was close just like it should of been with those two teams. Sittin at 6-2 so far in the Regular Season, hoping to win tonight....
Well I like ton of games tonight, starting with the 76ers, Milwaukee is very young and their best player is returning from knee surgery, they lost Jefferson and Villanueva, I dont think a returning Redd and Andrew Bogut are gonna be able to hang on the road with Igoudala and Brand. Plus I have the Bucks pegged to be amongst the bootom 5 teams in the league.
Thank you D brackets. I appreciate you stoppin by my thread. I think ATL is too deep for Washington who looked good against a Mavs squad that takes bad shots, no defense and can't rebound, I'll take ATL.
Allright! 2-0 now one more play tonight, the Lakers usually beat Mavs by 7 I also think Dallas took Was lightly cause they were lookin ahead to this game. GO MAVERICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a night last night! It was ****in great to see Dallas beat the Lakers straight up knowing I had +8 in my pocket the whole time. Tonight I like NJ/WAS under, both teams are playing a back to back and niether has a substantial amount of scorers.
After that last post I came out too see the game was 10pts into the first two min, now has slowed a bit htamk god. Now the 76ers own the Knicks, swept them last year and I watched Philly and they used no energy against the Bucks, the Knicks were in Double OT last night and they dont play D, taking Philly
Well today wasnt great. I m lookin ahead to tomorrow and I like Boston -11 over N.O.
I think N.O. isn't a very good team and with Bostons defense I think they cover in this spot.
Well I deserved to chalk an L yesterday for takin Boston, what a square bet. I am loving one play so far...
Hou/UT OVR 202.5* (-110)
The Jazz have terrible perimeter defense and Houston can light it up from downtown. The Jazz overall are not a great defensive team and they score alot at home, the only thing that worries me is Carlos Boozers terrible field goal percentage hes rockin with the amount of minutes hes playing but he is in a conract year and if he wants to stay in this league he is gonna have to step it up. The PG position for Houston is a great match going against Williams, the Rockets PGs have speed and caan drive the floor and drive the lane and kick out, Deron Williams is a physical basketball player and the only PGs who have successs against him are one with speed such as Devin Harris, Rondo, I look for both teams to score over a hundred tonight. Probably got one more comin'
New York Knicks +3 (-110)
Houston Rockets +8 (-115)
The Hornets used alot of energy yesterday, the KNicks are still looking for a win, I knnow nate robinson is out but NY still has David Lee, Al Harrington and that Galinari kid is ****in lights out from downtown and NO doesnt have the defense to slow down a Mike D'antoni offense. The Jazz are moer than likely gonna be without Mehmet Okur tonight and they usually end up beating the Rockets by 9 but I think H-town keeps this close and may come down t a barn burner.
3-0 Today baby! Thought that Jazz over was toast the way they played. Aready booked Dallas -4 (-120) earlier, the Utah Jazz WERE THE WORST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE ON BACK TO BACK LAST YEAR, and they got the same roster and Dallas already got upset by Was at home and think they win easy over the Jazz.
Well I lost my small bet cause Miami went MIA in the 4th, I also won my big bet because Utah got Destroyed by Dirk Nowitzki, that guy is a ****in stud and gets no credit and hes a top 5 player every year. So 1-1 on the day bu still won cause we only put a lil bit on Miami. D we should a had that Miami but oh well.
Well looking at the lines for today I am still pretty undecided, one play I booked though was LA @ Hou OVR 202. The Rockets are an up tempo team and tough to defend, they can just kill from behind the arc. The Lakers are obviously the reigning chmps who struggled with Hou in the playoffs, the Lakers will bring their A game tonight, I see both teams scoring over a 100.
I am still not convinced PHX is a good team, I like betting Orlando at home who was obviously conserving energy for tonight losing in Detroit. I look for Matt Barnes to have a big game against his former team. Even without Pietrus and Lewis I think Orlando is too deep, and Stoudemire aint gettin shit inside on that Magic interior defense.
