To decriminalize marijuana, means putting thousands and thousands of cops out of work.
It's not about what the right thing to do is, and hasn't been about that for ages in this country. It's always about what is more profitable, and without a doubt - the prison system is very profitable in the state of Arizona. Our entire legislature is as dependant on prison funds, as Texan legislators are on Big Oil.
One deals in a precious natural resource. The other doesn't.
