Lakers need two max players in 2014....If Kobe does not take a pay cut, they may very well only be able to afford 1 max and two supportive star player type contracts....or dump Gasol and Nash....either way...Melo and Lebron will be their first choices...all speculative now...but Melo is more likely to opt out....He has a relationship with Kobe....but can they co exist on the floor? I doubt it...just look at Kobe's history...

i don't hink that Melo will leave his hometown Knicks to be Kobe's whipping boy.. can't see it.

Kobe won't allow another A-List to exist there, i think the days of that are over, really. from here on,
it is about stockpiling points. and working on passing Jordan, and hopefully Kareem (in his mind)

that's his real goal. Catching Jordan's 6 is what he says, but he is not committed to that as he is to the Total Points Crown
