Robert Ross: Side with Spurs at Celtics

    Side with Spurs at Celtics

    Game Time: 1/22/2007 7:30:00 PM
    By: Robert Ross

Hampered by injuries and sporting a poor home record, fade Boston this evening when the Celtics host the San Antonio Spurs.

The Celtics are short-handed and not even very good when healthy, showing a 4-14 home record and a 3-14-1 home spread mark.

San Antonio is 8-0 against the spread in road games versus poor passing teams, squads that are averaging less than 20 assists/game this season, and the Spurs are 20-8 against the spread in road games versus foul prone teams (24+ fouls/game) over the last three seasons.

Boston is 19-32 against the spread versus good 3-point shooting teams that make 36+ percent of their long range attempts over the last two seasons. The Celtics are 9-23 against the spread in home games versus very good teams that are outscoring their opponents by 6+ points/game since 1996.

    Play: Spurs -8½

I actually like the under 184.5 in this game in this game. I don't see a whole lot of scoring happening in this one at all.
