No matter the sport,I always go nuts betting alot of dogs on moneyline and totals parlays early in the season.NBA is the best though.I noticed that the bookies aren't as generous on the NHL lines this year with the dogs so the bookies might follow suit with NBA odds.The lowly Islanders were +140 against the Penguins the other day.My theory is that there are alot of equalizers early in pro sports seasons where you can throw every other stat out the window.Look at how the Yankees started out the season and how they progressed to make up for the crappy start.It takes at least 2 or 3 weeks for even great teams to jel and get the chemistry going.Bring on the +500 and +600 cellar dweller teams that play the Lakers early on and I'll jump on them.

I wouldn't try fading the real elite teams though. The Lakers, Celtics, Magic, and Cavs won't be losing too many games as big favorites right from the start.
