•• when a team blows Game 6 late. – they also blow game 7 (all sports)

and the Game 7 tends to be lopsided,
as the momentum shifts entirely away from them.

They just mentally shut-down. other team gains so much hope and confidence.
    too much energy to recoup.
not enough time for pendulum to swing back.*

    most recently MLB

Texas Rangers vs. St-Louis Cardinals 2011 World Series (Nelson Cruz drop)

    • Boston Red Sox vs NY Yankees 2004 ALCS (miracle wins)

    • NY Mets vs. Boston Red Sox 1986 Word Series (Buckner flub)

NY Knicks vs. Houston Rockets 1994 NBA Finals (Starks 1-17 FGs)

bunch in hockey as well.. too many to research and list

hell, this even happens in golf..
see it all the time when a guy blows a put on 18,and the unravels in the playoff

very, VERY hard to bounce back..

i would not call this statistics.. stats have to do with averages mostly.this has more to do with inertia, ebb and flow

Meh. It doesnt really matter what was done before. And you have to consider that Spurs lost because they were dumb as penetrate. Their last quarter was terrible. Green was off, Parker didnt do his best. Wade and Bosch did what i expected.

So....Your say that the Spurs have no chance 0% to rebound from this entire situation?

Well the Spurs have nothing to worry about. The Heat cant possibly have anything left in the tank for game 7 after winning all those games during the regular season:

The Spurs did it before and got bumped that same year(Best Reg Season Record not streak). Anything is possible.

From a situational & momentum perspective, it would appear that the Heat are the play. Between this year & last year, the majority of the time, the Heat beat their opponents by double digits in close out games (closeouts for the Heat).

i think that it will be very hard for the spurs not to adopt a losing mentality, as the instances i cited seem to indicate.
the performances in Game 7 seem to be quite analogous*

indeed, i stand by my previous comments.. i know that i am in the vast minority.. (if a minority may be referred to as such)
but i do think that losing at the right time is critically important. Highly recommend to get your losing when it does not count so much.

that said. how it applies to Game 7 should be most interesting.

MIAMI has not won consecutive games since the Bulls series
and SAN ANTONIO has to climb Everest after tumbling down, mere inches from the peak.

You guys cant be serious? Both teams have taken a pounding in losses. Not just losses, they both got RAPED and EMBARRASSED. Then came back and won the next game. Dont think to much into yesterdays outcome. Its anyone's game.

Spurs shot their load. The Heat took Green out of the gameplan. Parker isn't 100%....Pop will prob ride Ginobili even though he needs to be put down like a horse with a broken leg. Its over

correlation does not imply causation, might just be coincidence but the trend is your friend.

    Duncan with 30/17
    Leonard with 20/10

LeBaby with 3 buckets thru 3 quarters

None of those things will happen gm7...not even close. Popovich blew their chance.

stats dont mean anything in the nba... its always come down to how the refs will control the game...if they will allow the players to play or call every touch foul ....

From the onset of the series...it was well understood by most knowledgeable fans that nobody in their right mind would want to face Miami in a game 7 situation...they have the momentum and obviously the Refs...Spurs are in a bad spot here...

That Nelson Cruz drop was so crazy... I will never forget that. Its like you just knew it was over once they lost that game. They got owned game 7. This series has the same feel, but I really do hope spurs come out fighting. I really don't want to see the heat win

The refs have been pretty decent this series, nowhere close to the time Miami won over Dallas. All this talk about Stern rigging the games is total BS. Miracles can happen, but in all likelihood the Heat will play with more urgency right from the beginning and should cover the line. PS I'll be happy if SA wins.
