Why would the Nuggets get rid of George Karl??

He makes the most of what he has every year.

guy should be gone if they want to have playoff success. They have no business getting eliminated by GS in the first round. Very talented team that should do better in the playoffs.

The Gallinari injury killed them. Plus Faried wasn't healthy. Not really his fault that happened. With those 2 healthy they would have made a run at the Spurs for sure.

Exactly, he hasn't been able to produce in playoffs, injuries or not. Chicago had a bunch of injuries and they made it to round 2.

Denver had bad timing with injuries. It happens. And as for them losing to GSW, they're the only team to beat SAS in this playoff.

horrible coach, he has great regular season record because of Denver's huge homecourt advantage

Sad day as a Nugget fan. As a Nugget fan, I rather be entertained by GK coaching for 82 games verses them Nuggets consistently getting into the 2nd round of the playoffs. In a league where it's proven yearly that only the teams with with a Superstar gets to the Finals, what GK done for Denver was amazing. I'm going to really miss that high tempo offense run by GK next season.

It could be a money thing. I'd assume Karl would want decent sized money. My guess is Nuggs will probably opt for a smaller name coach and save money. Just my guess.

he didn't want to do what management wanted to do. he played andre miller too much and didn't develop some kid they have on their bench that they want to develop. shit like that. it will be the same reason the grizzlies don't re-sign hollins.

Heard today he was making some expectations about his future and they showed him the door. Like you said it seems it was a contract dispute. Old George either wanted out, knew what his future looked like, or over played his hand and it cost him.

He was alittle upset the gm went to Toronto. We were close. The nuggets released Carl because negotiations went south and the team didn't want it to be a distraction for all of next season. So they cut thr ties early. Too bad, under Carl, they made playoffs every year. But not much success.

Karl is much much better than Hollins...although he gets 110% out of his players, Lionel showed Memphis mgmt how inadequate he really is ....i would actually like to see them switch teams and see the outcome...defensive minded Hollins in Denver and a Karl offense in Memphis.

Karl is one of the best coaches in the NBA. 57 wins is ridiculous for that roster. It wasn't his fault Gallinari got injured and Curry went nuts in that series. But I personally kind of hope he ends up with the Clippers, I think that would be a good fit. And it would be funny if Denver misses the playoffs or is otherwise a train wreck next year. They damn sure aren't going to win 57 again!

if gallinari was healthy and faried was fully healthy, they beat the warriors and this thread wouldn't exist.
