As a Celtics fan, I hated the decision and the idea is very simple, he takes time away from Kendrick Perkins who IS part of the team's future. Perkins has grown and grown as a player since the Big 3 jogged along and KG has been an excellent big man mentor for him. Sheed will come into play if either Perkins or KG get injured, and if that happens I would love to have Sheed. However otherwise I don't like it at all. Unless Perk's minutes stay above 30.

Of course Sheed was the missing piece when Pistons won their title back then, coming in the middle of the season. So I could be wrong, but he was also a clear starter back in Detroit and was hungrier back then. I hope the big 3 will garner enough respect for Sheed to perform well.
