Saturday NHL: Is It A Must Win For Detroit To Make The Playoffs?

What does Detroit need to do in order to secure a playoff birth? Tie breakers included... I've heard they must win or tie to make the playoffs. Can anyone officially confirm what has to happen? Thanks.

Win and in. Lose in OT in if Minnesota only gets a point or Columbus only gets a point in.

Lose outright Columbus loses outright and in.

Lose outright and Columbus loses in OT and in.

They have the ROW advantage over Columbus which is first tie breaker.

Lose in OT and Columbus win in shoot out, in.

Personally would live to see Minnesota lose and Columbus and Detroit advance.

If they continue to play like they have been, they can beat anyone.

Dallas has shit the bed against them this year but definitely wouldn't lay the juice on the road.

I think the wings will beat the stars.

Wings have won 3 in a row.

Dallas just got eliminated from playoffs last game and might be a huge letdown spot for them.

just a hunch certainly could happen. Rather be Columbus at home

I probably won't bet it either, these must win games are tough.

Teams play much looser with no pressure, like the oilers tonight.

just think the stars won't show up after getting eliminated last game.

just never know like Edmonton and Florida beating rangers. Last home game I think Dallas puts up good effort.

This article came from DetroitRedWings.com There are saying all Detroit needs is 1 point in tonight's game to secure a spot in the playoffs. Which would mean an OT Loss and they are still in. Is this article inaccurate?

Yeah Detroit only needs one point because of the stupid ROW tiebreaker. Or a Columbus loss in any form or Minnesota regulation loss.

Would love to have this game in live wagering at 5D with Detroit down a goal at some point. Taking +0.5 after 60 minutes seems like easy money. Juice is kinda high right now at -222 for +0.5 but Babcock will play for the point. He's conservative. Detroit has played like this most of the year.

I don't know how far they will go? But 3 games ago... odds for Detroit winning the cup were +5500 at 5D. They were down to +3000 today. And I'm sure +2200 or so tomorrow.
