Hi. I have been watching NBA since the mid 1990s but I'm new to sports betting.
This year, I have been mostly watching the western conference.
My friend who is an NBA fanatic said that the Grizzlies will upset the Clippers in game 1.
I disagree with him, one thing led to another and I ended up betting for the Clippers.
This is my first bet ever.
I am not a fan of either team and only have watch the Clippers twice this year, and Grizzlies 3x.
I have seen their meeting last year once during the playoffs.
The Grizzlies are good defensive team, who likes to slow down team to a grind. Conley vs Paul, Gasol vs DeAndre, Blake vs Randolph, are all good matchup.
But I think it takes more than solid defense to win in the playoffs. You must have an bonafide offensive superstar. Clippers have two.
Chris Paul, the leader of the team, and Blake who will be fired up to show that he is more than highlight reel, will be more than enough for the Clips to win the initial salvo.
Judging by the interviews, Chris is hungry for a win. He was good in the opener of last year's playoffs, so I predict that he will be the same, if not better, because of added playoff experience.
I choose Clippers to win the 1st game at -220 moneyline odds that my friend offered.
I bet $500, which if I win, will net me around $225.
So, did I choose the right team to win?
