An In-Depth Talk of All 4 Games Saturday

    Knicks -7 against Boston

Knicks the last month and a half of the season have been tremendous. Their guard play is amazing and Melo has been playing out of his mind. It seems like this is the year that he will have a chance to compete for a championship. The Celtics without Rondo are what they are, a 7 seed. In Madison Square Garden I see this game being a blow out. JR Smith, Novak, Melo all have the ability to knock down the 3 consistently and take a huge lead. They are the best 3 point shooting team in the league and their defense is vastly improved under Woodson. They got through many injuries and are healthy now playing the best basketball they ever played under Melo. I think Knicks win this by 20 + and run the Celtics out of the buidling.

    Denver -8

Wow is it tempting to bite on Golden State +8.....but than you gotta think with common sense. Is their a better home team than Denver right now? They are absolutely streaking right now and they have to be feared in the west right now. I know Curry, Jack and Lee may be a force but the way Denver scores is to scary to bet against. If anything I'd stay away from this game...I just have a strong feeling Denver blows Golden State out of the water. Although I will be cheering for Golden State since I like the team they have put together.

    Chicago/Brooklyn Under 181

I think this could be one of those ugly games to watch. I don't have much faith in Chicago right now and Brooklyn seemed to come together late. I could see Chicago scoring 70 points in this game and the under would look very promising than. I'm thinking Brooklyn 85 Chicago 75 type ball game. Can see a lot of turnovers and missed free throws between these teams. Noah looks to be out which makes me a little scared since he is usually behind a lot of sloppy possessions.

    Memphis/Clippers over 178

This is my favorite line of the playoffs. I think Memphis and the Clippers could both reach 100 points in this game. I know I'm not the sharpest person in the world but I really like the way both of these offenses play and there should be tons of free throws between these two teams. Paul is almost automatic at the line and Gasol usually gets called for everything since he plays so sloppy and strange. With so many big men on these teams I really like that the guards get fouled a lot. I see this game being close which also helps a lot in overs. Could see a 99-95 win by the Clippers in this game.

Good luck to all, comments are appreciated. Will be putting my bets in at Aliante Casino in Las Vegas tomorrow. I don't bet a lot of money usually 25 dollars a game. Not the sharpest I hit 46-50 percent of games which I know isn't good but I try to put a lot of thought behind my bets.

1-2-1 on Saturday not really a good day.

    Indiana -6.5

Although the Indiana offense isn't that great, they are the number one rebounding team in the NBA. Paul George, Roy Hibbert, George Hill and David West are going to be tough. At home they were 30-11 this year and I think they will continue that success. I think Indiana covers because they hold their opponents to the 2nd least amount of points in the NBA and with that defense I think they won't have to score much to cover. I really think Atlanta struggles to score the basket and they will be dominated down low.

    Pick Number 2

    Spurs -8

I got 8 at the casino in Las Vegas because all the LA fans are here driving down the number which is great. I think the Kobe-less Lakers are going to get run out of town. I think the fact that people are buying into the Dwight Howard team is hilarious. Once it is crunch time and he can't hit free throws I think the Spurs will tack on to their lead. I think the Spurs could handle the Lakers like the Nets did to the Bulls yesterday. It will be an ugly game for LA.

    Bet Number 3

    Miami -14

It seems like I am on the favorite train for Sunday. I really like Miami in this match-up and I don't think that LeBron will struggle like he did last playoffs to get leads. Now that he has a ring and he knows he can do it they might be a very scary team. I don't think LeBron wants to lose any games this postseason and I think this could be a HUGE blowout. I think the line is just this low because there isn't much more the lines-makers could do to this line.

    Bet number 4

    Oklahoma City -10

Wow, I've never taken this many favorites. I really usually take dogs with the points but these teams are too good. I really like the Thunder to dominate at home. Harden isn't going to be able to compete by himself out there unfortunately. I will really be cheering hard for Houston since I like the team a lot. I think this could be a 120-88 type game.

IMO a waste of time calling your thread an "in-depth analysis" when all you're doing is writing a few lines on every game and only winning one of the four you posted. I think more people would be interested in an in-depth analysis of ONE game that is your most confident pick since its very unlikely you will go 4-0 or even 3-1 on a consistent basis if you're forcing yourself to bet on every game. Also, in regards to your last post, its improbable that every favourite will cover.

Who said I force myself to bet every game? This is the playoffs and I'm betting the games I like and I like the action. Obviously I don't bet every game during the season but on the weekends I go to the sportsbook bet a small amount on each game and watch all the games. Also good call on it being "unlikely" that I go 3-1 or 4-0. Already 3-0 today.

Day 3 Bets of the playoffs.

    Monday April 22nd.

    Bet Number 1

    Brooklyn -4.5

I like Brooklyn to repeat what they did in game 1. Nothing to over think in this game. I really liked the Brooklyn defense last game and the offense really dominated. They control the boards really well and I think they continue that tomorrow. I think Chicago will struggle this series especially in Brooklyn.

    Bet 2

    Memphis +5.5

I really liked how LA played the first game. I just expect this series to be the same as the one last season. I think that Memphis will most likely win this game outright but I'll take the points to be safe. Thinking that Randolph and Gasol will have their way this game and they will be more efficient to start the game. Really think they win this game. This series will go 6 or 7.

    Bet 3

    Memphis/La Over 181.5

Thinking this game is going to be fast paced. I see a lot of points in the paint and tons of fouls on the big men. I really like this game to be close and a lot of points being scored. I could see a 100-95 type win for Memphis so I am taking the over.

    Good luck to everyone!!!

Thanks at least someone isn't here just bashing me. I know it's not that "in-depth" but I just write what I think about when making the bets. I usually think about certain things and like to share them. I'm not a great handicapper, I don't make tons of money betting and I sure as hell don't hit 60 percent of my bets but i try to make logical bets. Good luck to everyone that follows!

So in your first post, you write "comments are appreciated". When I post a comment, suddenly "everyone is bashing me". Like, wow. You shouldn't even bother posting if this is how you're going to react to anybody who tries to give you constructive feedback.

And your "analysis is pretty spot on" comment doesn't prove anything since it was pretty bad yesterday. All it shows is that you're inconsistent and if you're looking for people to follow your picks, its better to be consistently good or consistently bad than inconsistent.

8 games since the Playoffs started and you've made a bet in all 8 of them. Tomorrow, you've made three bets to cover both games. That speaks for itself. And yes, it was unlikely all the favourites cover. Just because it hit today does not change the fact that it does not happen often. I was making an observation. If you actually read my post properly, I said it was unlikely you would go 4-0 or 3-1 on a consistent basis since you make a play on every game on the board. If you can prove me wrong, good for you. You're a better capper than most. But if you end up down money by the Finals, this will be the reason why.

Okay I understand where you are coming from sorry it just seemed like you were coming off rudely. I am sorry I do appreciate the feedback even if it is negative. Yes I do bet a lot in the playoffs because it is fun for me. I enjoy capping these games and like all the action.

    Tuesday April 23rd Basketball Plays
    Bet number 1
    Milwaukee +14 55 to win 50

This game I think will be closer than the first game. I saw glimpses of hope for Milwaukee of keeping a game close even though they were blown out. It is hard to repeat a blow out performance as we saw today in both games. The combination of Ellis and Jennings can easily put up 25 each in game 2. I think with a little more performance from Sanders and maybe a little small play from Henson will help. Milwaukee will have to shoot free throws better than they did in game one and I think they will. Giving up 33 foul shots to Miami isn't going to cut it and I think if they bring that number down to 20 there is no way they lose by more than 14. I'm anticipating this game to be much closer they did a great job shutting down Wade, Bosh and Chalmers. If they can hold 4/5 starting 5 to less than 20 points like they did in game 1 it could get interesting. I know LeBron won't struggle but this could be a surprising outcome, I really like my chances on this wager.

    Bet Number 2
    Knicks -6.5 55 to win 50

I really like this wager as well. The Knicks pushed on a 7 point spread without getting any points from Chandler. The Knicks defense really confused Boston and I think that will continue. The way Carmelo played in game one was amazing and I think that will continue. The Knicks will need more production from Copeland in game two and I think Felton will have to score at least 15-20 points. I highly doubt Green will have a similar game like he did in game 1 against New York. Him dropping 26 was surprising to me and it kept them in the game. The Knicks shot less free throws but made up for that with the 3. I really like the Knicks covering games because of the 3. They can take huge leads in a matter of minutes and even when they are up small you know they're only a couple possessions from blowing it open. The Knicks had 10 offense rebounds and were all over the glass. They played with tremendous energy which I think will wear Boston down. The Knicks held Garnett to only 8 points and the way K-Mart played was amazing. I think the Knicks will be winning by more than 6.5 at the half and will roll to a 2-0 lead going to Boston. I don't know how this line went down from game 1. Carmelo has a lot to prove this playoffs and he can carry the Knicks in this situation.

    Bet Number 3
Denver Nuggets -8 55 to win 50 (Favorite bet in playoffs so far)
I guess the sportsbooks don't value David Lee for any points. The combination of Lawson, Chandler and Iguodala didn't do anything in game one. I think with the loss of David Lee for the Warriors this game could get ugly fast. David Lee accounted for 14 rebounds in game 1 and without him this should be a blowout win for Denver at home. Denver missed ten free-throws in game one and I don't expect for that to happen again. I liked the combination of Curry and Thompson in game one but without Lee grabbing boards those missed threes from the Warriors are going to add up to a lot of rebounds for Chandler, Koufos and Iguodala. With Miller getting 28 in game one and the game winner I think the momentum in this series just took a huge turn in Denver's favor. I was very surprised that the Warriors almost won that game but with the loss and than losing Lee they must feel deflated. I wouldn't want to play in Denver right now at all. Jack shot only 3-12 in game one and guard was the only position the Warriors succeeded at. I think if Denver won with only one player getting 20 points that they will dominate game two. I really love this game but I never bet more in one game than another just because I don't believe in doing that.

    Bet Four
    Miami/Milwaukee Over 197

I loved the under in game one and now I feel the complete opposite. Just because I think Milwaukee plays much better this time. I really think Jennings and Ellis will score a lot in this game. I think LeBron also has a big game and gets Wade more involved since he has a history of doing that after Wade struggles in a playoff game. This game should be a lot faster paced which is great news for the over. I really think this game will be close and I think Jennings will carry Milwaukee to keep it close. They will need Sanders to score at least 15 I think to keep it over but I see Miami getting a lot more production from their bench in game two. There were 53 free throws alone in game 1 and if that happens in a close game there is no doubt it goes WAY over. Thinking a 107-103 type ballgame.

    Good Luck everyone!!!

    Bets for Thursday, April 25th

    Miami Heat -7.5 55 to win 50

I really thought this number would be 9 or 10. Really glad it's not. I took Milwaukee in game two and Miami in game one so it looks like I have a good read on this series. I expect Miami to blow this game wide open. I think Jennings will play well but I don't expect Miami to allow them to stay in this game. I think Miami by 15 plus points tomorrorw.

    Brooklyn Nets +3.5 55 to win 50

I think Brooklyn had an off game in game 2 and I like them to win this game outright. I always take points though and never moneyline. I think Williams will have a big game and I don't see Chicago doing what they did in game 2. I really think they played the best game of the series and I'm not scared that Brooklyn is in Chicago. Really like this game.

    Memphis -5 55 to win 50

Well I was kind of leaning the other way on this game in the beginning but did a lot of homework here. I really like this game to be high scoring and I think Memphis will shock a lot of people with this game. I don't see them losing any home games in this series and I really like them to win both games at home. I think a blow out is pending in this game...I really like Randolph to have a huge game with Gasol.

Good luck sorry for the short write ups I am very busy with working full time and school full time lately. Getting towards the finals in school been pretty crazy!!

    Good luck everyone!
