Lakers make big statement in Indiana

Winning there with kobe not a factor at all. Lakers slowly but surely getting in the groove.

NO WAY.. they beat Indy with Kobe playing his patented 1-on-5 isolations..
and missing 16-20 shots... (like turnovers really)

    great game for the Lakers...
    terrible game for Kobe..

people are gonna figure out what's up.

rat you don't understand. lakers won the game for kobe. they saw what a trooper he was coming onto the court. he was expected to miss 1-2 weeks at minimum. and they were all shocked he suited up. they won the game because of the message kobe sent.

you're still in high school so you don't understand these types of things.

    thus, proving my point..

they won because they eliminated all those missed shots..
5 guys in double figures.. Nash 9 assists

that's very good ball minus the Kobe-Show, *especially in Indiana

no Lakerboy, you are missing the point.

the point is that 5 guys scored in double figures.
and that you had 27 assists.

27 Assists means that there is a ton of ball movement, which translates to
"impossible to double anyone" and "impossible to defend"

in the last game WITH KOBE.. there were only 17 Assists... though only 7 less pts.
that is because Kobe scores but does not move the ball around as he should.

vs, ATL KoBE-BALL * Kobe had 31, Artest with 20, and Howard 10, Nash 11
    vs IND. Laker-Ball Howard-20, Blake-18, Jamison-17, Nash-15, Artest-19

27 assists leads to balanced scoring... and wins.

Kobe wants his cake and eats it too.
so he gets his pts. everybody else kind of starves.. and you lose more.*

the first half of the season was sub .500 Kobe ball problem.
    not the injuries.

Lakers have PLENTY of talent. Plenty*

the team with the greater amount of assists wins a HUGE percentage % of their games in the NBA

this was a quality win for the lakers
ratzz is correct about kobe in this situation
to beat a superior defensive team, u cant go 1-5, it would play into the pacers hands
u need to pass the ball to break the defense down
thats why a team like the spurs are one of the few legit threats to miami

The 'star-player out' theory at its best.

Because no team needs to step-up as much as Lakers do when Kobe is out.

Spurs would be fine without parker. Heat would win 50 games without james. Bulls are doing decent without rose.

Hey............retards. Let me get this straight........two nights ago the Lakers lose on a BLOWN NON-CALL that would have sent Kobe to the line and the game to overtime. Yet.......now.......because it's convenient........the refs cheat for the Lakers again.

Fukking tin foil hat wearing nimrods.

You fukksticks really think that in all the years/decades.........not a single ref would have come forward for millions of dollars and spill the beans?

You don't think a ref would have ran his mouth to buddies/family........who would have then spilled the beans for big bucks?

You don't think a ref......on his death bed........wouldn't have spilled the beans to clear his conscious prior to dying?

Kobe is clutch...and is definitely the reason they won their last few games...but he is also the reason...they have to come from behind against sub 500 teams....his style of play hurts the team in the first 3 quarters...his talent can bail them out...but it shouldn't be that way....that has always been the problem with Kobe Bryant..it what bothered Phil for years....

The NBA cannot and will not allow its 2nd biggest star to sit during the playoffs....and so similar to the 2010 game 7 nba finals...they bailed the lakers out tonight with free throws...30 attempts compared to the Pacers measley 9...they did move the ball well though....and that is because they did not have Kobe turning it over in the 1st half.....and taking half the shots

Bottom Line is the Lakers have ZERO chance with Kobe in, playing 40+ minutes.
He makes himself the entire offense.
Game after game after game.. every else is cold.*

he gets 30+ and the others get 50-60 between them all.

so basically it's kobe 35 pts. and seven other players score 8 pts. apiece. with under 20 Assists.

it is so easy to beat a team that does that. that is why they were under .500 until this past week.

Lakers have a chance against Spurs without Kobe.
    Zero chance with him.
    No ball-distribution.. one-dimensional offense.

    with Kobe-Show:
    Spurs in 5,
    OKC in 5,
    Memphis in 5-6*

When you have a guy like Howard and then another guy like Bryant on your team, you are gonna dominate the FT line. Same with a team like a OKC with a Durant and Westbrook, or a Lebron and a Wade when they're not lazy and they feel like attacking, you're done.

The Bulls led the league pretty much every year in FT attempts. Jordan and Pippen...

Shaq and Bryant back in the early 2000s....

Like I said in a thread yesterday never been a fan of Kobe's. Not because he is not a great players just never liked his attitude. After the last couple games though I have to give him respect. Showed a lot of heart coming out there and giving it a try when it looked like he couldn't put any pressure on that ankle and had zero lift. Then the old Kobe would have pouted and went to the locker room. He stayed on the bench helped his team (writing on the board drawing plays) and he cheered them on. Cant knock a guy that does that.

sidenote: Howard played really good when it was important at the end of the game.

This was nothing for the Lakers compared to the overall run in my view. Indy just kept playing bad and bad and bad, and Artest just wanted that game more. I think last night win shouldn't be the focus but yet the overall streak they are in where they are able to pull of lots of late games because they focus on defense and when Kobe's not jerking up those ridiculous shots like in Toronto, they know realize they still have lots of other guys that can hit the shots too. Unless you're Clippers/Thunder I would say you better watch out in the West, no doubt. And even the Clippers and the Thunder I just don't think because of the match-ups and the depth and versatility on those teams that there's any way the Lakers can beat them 4 out of 7.

i think it is you who does not understand... all the tandems that you mention were the best in their time..
    but they all worked together...

Kobe attacks the other part of his tandem... he competes with it.
He wants two wins. He wants to score more points than Howard, and calls him out every opportunity he has.
Attempting to make Howard seem like the lesser player. Uncommitted and lazy.

this dynamic did not exist in any of the other very successful tandems you mentioned, Jordan never called out
Pippen in the media.. as Kobe calls out Howard "we don't have time for Dwight's shoulder to heal"
or "time for Pau to put his big-boy pants on"..

that's not 'tandem' behavior, that is antagonistic behavior.*
