Can Miami make a legitimate run at the Lakers’ record 33-game win streak way back in the 1971-72 season? To illustrate the magnitude of that accomplishment by Bill Sharman’s Lake Show, consider that Heat just notched its 16 win on the trot in narrow 1-point shave vs. Magic on March 6...and that hasn’t even reached the halfway point of L.A.’s record streak from 41 years ago. So, we wouldn’t worry too much about it if we were Heat fans. Of more pressing concern is that matchup vs. Indiana and the chance for Heat to send a message to possible postseason foe Pacers, who beat Miami in the first two meetings this season and proved a mettlesome foe in the playoffs last spring, forcing the Heat to six games. Expect LeBron & Co. to use those previous DD defeats to their motivational edge, so don’t expect a replay of either the January 8 result when Paul George scored 29 and outshined both D-Wade and King James, or February 1 (Miami’s last SU loss thru March 7) when Pacers shot 56% from floor. In particular, expect Miami to pay much more attention to the glass after getting outboarded a combined 113-78 in those two games, and D-Wade (27.7 ppg & 61.9% from floor over last seven games thru March 7) at the peak of his game right now. Pacers also only 6-12 as road dog, so don’t mind laying reasonable price with Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!
