Notice how there are no threads about LEBRON Tonight?

When he makes a game winner there is silence.

If he missed it there would be 1000 posts about how much he chokes

MM........what you say is true..........and there is no doubt that James is the best player in the league at this time. But, tonight is about Kobe.

    42 points....14-21 from the field
    12 assists
    7 boards

At his age......on those legs........over 200 playoff games in his pocket......the tear he's been on is amazing.

hard to hate on a team with such a long winning streak but common now, orlando was 17-43 going in...second worst team in the league

Interesting question. Back when the bulls were 8-5 or so the last 2 championships i took them both times, because they had no real potential challenge until the finals. I think the same is true about the heat, the chances of anyone beating them in the eastern conf playoffs are close to 0.

So if nobody else ever had a line, i would take miami.
I'm pretty sure miami is around +120 at some shops though?

Yeah, they are right around +120. And I agree with you, I would take Miami before the field.

    this is crazy!

durant averaged over a point a minute last year in the last 3 minutes of close games

Situation: final minute, game within three points. Statistics are per 48 minutes.
(Note: average field goal percentage -- 36.1 percent)

    MIN FG% 3FG% FT% REB AST TO PTS +/- Usg% eFG% PER
    Durant 83 44.9 29.6 80.0 8.7 0.6 2.9 59.0 28.9 47.7 50.0 39.5
    James 63 42.9 50.0 65.5 17.5 11.4 4.6 41.9 22.1 36.7 51.4 36.4

Like phil jackson says he has an asterisk by his championship cause it wasn't a full season

if he wins championship he will only need a handful more to catch kobe, than jordan

The correct question in the original post should have been "Why are the Heat getting as much credit as they are?"

Did we all forget the Spurs win streak 1 season ago? Did we all forget the Spurs still have the best record despite Miami's run?

I didn't. Let's be real. LBJ and the Heat are Stern's Mr. Bigglesworth.

    good points

if a couple of teams like the spurs/thunder/clippers were in the east, miami's record and chances of winning it all might be quite a bit different

he beat everyone on the magic on his way to the hoop, 1 on 5

if it were that easy to make a layup in the closing seconds of an nba game (where almost no defensive fouls are going to be called) then everyone would do it, rather than shooting jump shots

And lebron hits another game winner

Only 2000 more and people might stop saying he chokes at the end of games (takes a lot to overcome incorrect stereotypes, because people hate to admit they were wrong)

Hardcore NBA fans hate LEbron because he cheated the game of basketball.
His rings will never mean anything in Miami.
People want to see him lose for what he did.
He is without a doubt the 2nd best player in the history of the game, but it was basically equivalent to doing steroids in baseball, making a deal between friends to beef up a team, then getting a bunch of yearning followers at the end of their careers also sign for less money to get a tainted ring as well.
It's sad, and it's the truth.
Lebron will never get the respect of any old school NBA players, or actual fans of the games itself, in general.

What he did against the Mavs in the 4th quarters of those Finals games is choking at its finest. Guy has 1 ring against an up and coming thunder team that was completely over matched.

How was this any different? There are also plenty of teams where bringing in the superstar didn't work too well(Lakers,Knicks). Its not like the Heat are unbeatable. The Pacers ,Celtics, and Thunder all had their chances last years playoffs.

Not even close to the same comparison.
They didn't team up in the off-season, maneuver paycuts, as well as recruit other minimum wage role-players willing to come for less money to IF it happened.
The Celtics didn't scam their team, they built it with no funny business. And it's not like any of those 3 players in that picture were EVER a top 5 NBA player. Heat had 2 of the top 5 when it happened (Wade has faded to a top 20 player now).
