look, forget the Playoffs.. will the Lakers even make .500 ??!

every time they get to that special game.. they slip up...*
they just don't have that strength of character it seems..
    that little extra tuffness

sure, against losing records like Portland and Dallas...
i think even OKC got lucky against Portland..
but what about Denver.. teams that win..?!

why can't the Lakers beat a winner consistently?*
why can't they beat a winner on the road?*

How many more games can they lose before they are officially out of the playoffs?

They beat some mediocre teams and then acted like they won a championship after beating a sub .500 Dallas team. Tonight was the type of game they need to start winning.

They will get help from Rockets and/or Utah - I just know these two scrubs will lose enough games and open the door for Lakers to sneak in.

i dunno, man.. but it's getting close.. Boston did the Lakers a HUGE fave by beating Utah tonite..*i think if they lose 4 more.. that's it..

of course it depends on how Utah, and Houston does, the Lakers Max Loss-Capacity is relative to theirs.. but Utah have the seson series vs. the Lakers.. so they can't tie them.

i LOVE the way they come out after tight wins vs. nobodies... they come out like, it's lights out..*and they swept Miami in the Finals..

not to mention, the refs completely changed that game late in the 4th (last night vs. Mavs)

Mavs were ahead.. and they swung it 6 points. completely changed momentum, and turned game *

i wonder is the refs were helping out the Celtics tonight to send it to OT?

let's face it, the Lakers are MONEY.

if they are OUT of the playoffs.. serious money is lost in "total viewers"
    and thus advertising rates,

we are talking about millions of dollars. *

That is just the new era of sports. Pile-on teams (teams that are bought not built) in big markets will always be a reality show type setting. Too many over-paid egos in one room and they all wanna be the man. Aside from that I think L.A. does just enough to squeek in but won't really be a threat in my opinion. Seriously between Houston, GSW, Utah one of them will tank and get back-doored for the 8th spot!

nahhh... i think the presh will be too much for the Lakers... and they will cave at the end..

maybe it'll be last game... and Kobe blows some 3's.. or DH flubs some FT's.. but i think a tank in the end.

Kupchak should be fired for giving up so much for Nash...

DH was good gamble. Nash was terrible trade, will haunt them for years.

I'm a Mavs fan. I want the Lakers to miss the playoffs as much as anybody but I do firmly believe they will make it.

And no, I don't have any futures other than 1000pt bet with Paulypoker on whether they will make the playoffs or not. No real money futures to speak of.

Either way, if it comes down to the Mavs and Lakers I'd much, much rather the Mavs make the playoffs and lose 1000 stupid points. If it comes down to the Lakers and Rockets I'll root for the Lakers. Plus which I hate the Rockets too. Ha

And BTW, that officiating yesterday was horrendous. Those fukks stole a game from us. Dirk should've been shooting FTs up 3 and instead the Lakers go a tech free throw and the ball. Changed the whole momentum. And that Mayo call was BS as well.

Can't you just shut up and let it go? I'm sure you know how hard it is to play in Denver b2b. So go figure.

"It's not a question of if we make the playoffs. We will," Bryant told Sports Illustrated. "And when we get there, I have no fear of anyone --
Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Denver ... whoever. I have zero nervousness about that."

Their playoff chances are in their hands and Stern's. I also agree that Blazers and Mavs were robbed the past two games. so there..

So all a player has to do is come out & say 'I'm not afraid of this team' & that means victory?? If that were the case every team would go 82-0.

How fukkin' clueless can u be?? The Lakers r playing a b2b vs a very tough Denver team that is 26-3 on their home court & were a 7 point fav. And you're asking for answers as to how the Lakers actually lost in this spot?

Seriously, how long u been following basketball....2 weeks?? Get a fukkin' clue bro & stop embarrassing yourself w/ ignorance.

hmm.. but if it doesn't happen easy like you say, why come out and say that?

yeah i still don't understand.. in the game over Portland.. when the refs were helping the Lakers out,
Kobe started to make his little growling Tiger-face...

that face means 'it's automatic'... what happened?
i guess i'm just trying to make sense of the double-digit choke
after publicly guaranteeing they were going to handle Denver.

when you absolutely eliminate the 'if'… you imply that it is without question.
If there is no question, it implies that it is accomplished with 'ease'.

I just don't foresee the Lakers in contention for the West. There's too many teams beefin up their arsenal. San Antonio & OKC are the obvious front runners to win the Western Conference, however the following are playoff material:

    - L.A. Clippers
    - Golden State
    - Denver
    - Memphis

Kobe can't handle the workload all on his own. He's been the media spotlight & no one else on the team seems to accept the fact chemistry doesn't exist.

Dwight Howard may very well have the same syndrome Shaq O'neal did many moons ago while on the Lakers - Irreconcilable Differences. I can only sympathize for the team. Truly a shame to see a dynasty crumble & fall.

This is basic basketball that you & Rat don't understand. After Dirk didn't get the call he flailed his arms @ the ref in disgust. That is an automatic technical 100% of the time. It doesn't matter what team or what player. Mayo's was even worse. He went off like a child & that will be called a T 100% of the time. A tantrum & yelling @ the ref while flailing your arms is a T wether it were two seconds or ten.
It's downright comical how every single Laker win is followed by excuses while every single loss is followed by "how can Kobe not lead them to victory."
The Mavs didn't lose because of Stern they lost because Kobe pissed on them in the 4th & nailed every shot. Yet, right on que here come the haters looking for excuses. I have not seen a Laker win this yr that according to the haters should have been a loss because of "whatever excuse they can think of"
You guys are still scared to death of the Lakers. If you weren't you wouldn't be on the edge of your seat every time they play sweating out every call & every game w/ two months to play in the season.
I swear I believe some of you guys would sell your children to human traffickers in return for the Lakers losing a reg season game.....how pathetic.

So it's automatic that you beat a team that is 26-3 on their home court if you just say "I'm not afraid of nobody"
So, if you make a tiger face that means "automatic"
    how fukkin' stupid are you??

Then you say "what happened?? What do you mean what happened?? The Lakers lost as a 7 point dog to a team that is 26-3 on their home court & you're asking what happened??
You have to honestly be the dumbest & clueless poster on this site.....hands down.

Kobe said "not if. we will" about making the playoffs, not about beating Denver (26-3 home court).
