    BCS is football.

But yes, like most of the guys here have said, LeBron would win the national championship with ease with 4 TTwarriors on his team. Look at the the best players in the country right now and just think about them having to guard or be guarded by LeBron. There's no way they would stand a chance.

The other teams would forfeit. Can you imagine being stuck on a court with 4 ttwarriors?

I think its an interesting one if we just assume that back in 2003 or whatever year he graduated HS he went to a mediocre team. Could he alone as a 18/19 year old carry a team? they could go far IMO but they wouldn't be a lock.

Bascially the question was : if Lebron went to college for one year coming out of High School would he win the ncaa championship w/ basically any school...

i'd say he'd have a decent shot, he'd give his mediocre team a decent shot like a highly ranked team normally has a shot. so maybe a 10% chance of winning it all?

IF, he went to a mediocre large school. a South Florida or Depaul type team maybe.

heck the year that Kentucky had like 5 first round draft picks including number 1 overall John Wall they didn't win it all. they didn't even get to the final 4.

does one Lebron>5 first round NBA talents?

if he had went to a division 3 school, I think he could carry a D3 school to basically an automatic championship.

If Lebron had went to a decent school right out of college they would have had as good a shot as any team of winning the title......but it wouldn't be automatic like it would be if he went to the same college as present day Lebron

All-Americans in what would've been LeBron's freshman season

UConn and Okafor won the title, Jameer Nelson won the player of the year awards.

The year Lebron would have been a freshman, UCONN won it all with Okafor and Ben Gordon

Looking at the 2004 Draft, they went 2 and 3.....Dwight Howard also went number 1 overall but he was out of high school

Luol Deng and Andre Igudola were the only other college players worth noting that came out in 04

Yup, when you've got a lock top-5 all time player, you go places. LeBron was taking a crappy NBA team to the playoffs/finals when he was young, so he would have absolutely rolled through the college game.

That is the one thing that I keep thinking about. Bron was well ahead of Melo at that age. But, Melo went to a big time school with a hall of fame coach, that had a very easy yet effective defense.

Coming straight out of High School I'd say he would have a shot. He contributed at the pro level in a big way his rookie season. I don't think you could say 100% yes or 100% no. Lebron is one of the greatest athletes of all time. Once March comes along college basketball is a crap shoot, if any team that has talent catches fire anyone can go the distance to win a title. I think it's impossible to ssay yes or no, but he's one of those change the game type of players and that alone gives him a shot to win a title.

He only averaged 22 ppg, they had Hakim Warrick, Mcnamara and other good players.
It was far from Melo and some scrubs. Plus a good coach and program.

    listen and take notes.

    1. college game is a 35 second shot clock?
    2. college 3 ball is a midrange jumper in the nba
    3. average size of NCAA PF: 6'7.7, 235 pounds, Average height of SF in college: 6'6, 213 pounds, Average Hieght of C: 6'10, 250 pounds
    4. Lebron James is between 6'9 and 6'10 and weights 270 pounds.
    5. How many guys on even the most elite college teams are capable of creating their own shots?
    6. How many guys in the NCAA over 6'4 run the PG position on the regular?
    7. Lebron James could defend any (College) player in the country. Anyone.
    8. You can't ask a PF or center in college ball to guard Lebron on the perimeter. No footspeed. Easy blow by on every play.
    9. You ask a G/SG/SF in college to guard Lebron James and it's a simple post up or easy drive to the basket as well.
    10. You want to double team or collapse on every play all white boys in college know how to do is shoot threes.
    11. Lebron could shut down the entire paint by himself in college basketball because there is way less spacing on the court which means he can recover to the paint much more quickly if needed.
    12. Lebron James would live at the FT line in college basketball.
    13. Lebron James is faster than any G F or C in all of college basketball. Lebron James is stronger than any G or F in the country. Lebron James has a better handle than any PG in the country. Fact. Lebron James is a better passer, scorer, defender, and rebounder than any player in the country.

    Dude what are you smoking?

    336 division 1 schools
    15 players per team
30 NBA teams, 2 rounds of drafting
    % of players drafted = (30 * 2) / (336 * 15)
    = 60 / 5040
    = .0119
That's not taking into account that almost half the players that are drafted end up in the D league or get cut. And some of those players are international players as well.
In reality it's like 0.5% of college D1 players get drafted in the NBA.

**Also this is based on 15 players per team. Some have 12. It's probably less than 0.5%.

    Suck it.

All that and he would lose playing with a bunch of scrubs.

Lebron is not 270 lbs. Nor is he 6'10.
All his stupid shoulder barring drives would be offensive fouls in college. Plus joke superstar calls would not exist at the other end as much.

Plus it's one and done in the tourney not seven game series. Other team gets hot from 3point land and it is game over.

Lebron can't even score 60 points in an NBA game. Most dominate player ever....
Guy barely has a few 50 point games.
Never had a 20 rebound game.
Never had more than 5 blocks in a game.

Rather pathetic for someone with his supposed "size" and "athleticism".

NBA is at a super pathetic level too with no real big man.

Lebron would make USF title contenders for sure. Comparing Lebron to any non ball handler, like shaq is unfair because you have to deliver the ball to players like Shaq. Lebron could take the ball 94 feet with ease.

You're right. Lebron is more than 270. He's 6'9 6'10. Look at him standing next to Chris Bosh. And Kevin Durant is only 6'9 like NBA.com says, right? Right... That's why he's 2 inches taller than Perkins on the court. Lebron came into the league at 17 18 years old and was 6'8 at that time. You're telling me he didn't grow an inch or two?

No real big man? Al Jefferson would dominate anyone in college basketball at the F/C position. Al Jefferson on the 100th ranked D1 school in teh country would win the national championship.

He's had 18 boards before in a playoff game i'm pretty sure... He's going against guys that are bigger, faster, stronger, etc.

Listen to yourself. You think it's just a coincidence that Lebron is not called for Offensive Fouls? Why is this? Because NBA players don't want to take a charge from someone driving at 20 mph 270 pounds of muscle, 5% body fat. So NBA players are scared to take these charges. You think a little as college kid 6'3 and 180 pounds fukkin 19 years old is gonna take a charge from a guy that size? Easier said than done chief.

So you think Al Jefferson is better than a prime Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Olajouwon, Shaq?????

Guess what, they lost in college.

How can Lebron be going against guys faster, stronger, bigger than him if he's 270 pure muscle and 6'10????

Yeah he weighs more than Malone. Look at the size of his thighs dude. He's easily 270, if not more. Lebron is an inch taller than malone too. You think it's just a coincidence that Lebron is rarely called for Offensive fouls? Dude, no one in the league wants to take a charge from the guy.

My man, Lebron weighed in at 240 when he was 18 years old. Do you realize how much smaller James was when he came into the league? If you don't remember, go check.

No. I'm not talking about rookie Jeff. I'm talking about now. A prime Duncan DR Hakeem or Shaq (NBA prime) would win college championships with ease. When you get to the NBA, it's a whole different level. It's not even close, hence the far less than 1% that are drafted, many of those don't even see any court time b/c they're not good enough. You learn so much when you get to the league.

I said Lebron is going against faster, stronger, bigger in NBA than he would in college. Lebron's combo of size and speed is why he's able to guard 1-5 (with the exception of a few 5s like Al Jefferson and Duncan, etc). Dude when Lebron gets the ball on a switch against a Blake Griffin, you realize he takes him in the post AND backs him down. How much you think Griffin weighs? Lebron has backed him down with EASE several times, and has done the same to other PF's as well...

Everyone says he's the greatest athlete in the world for his size but he can't even average 1 block per game.

    Double digit rebounds...not even close.

    Just stop.
    It's called knowing your role.

Revis had more interceptions in 09 then Asomaghu. But Revis was thrown at 106 times, while Asomaghu was only thrown at 28 times. I ask you who was the better shutdown corner?

Lebron can't get blocks cause no one is trying to take it up strong against him (just like Asomaghu can't get picks cause people are scared to go anywhere near him), and a fukkin guard isn't responsible for help D under the basket which is how big men accumulate the majority of their blocks.
