this thread is dedicated to monitoring Kobe's inevitable demise, and his plummeting FG%. Some individuals have taken the position that Kobe is the best player in the NBA this year, and that his performance this year is a career best (most notably Uscope). *
I am of the position that Kobe will continue to tank and embarrass the Lakers and himself.*
Quite hilariously, yesterday (Jan.22nd) Kobe pointed the finger squarely at Dwight Howard for his diminished ability to find the basket.
“I’ve tried to go out of my way to get him the ball,” Bryant told Y! Sports. “Sometimes I end up looking like an idiot, because I get up in the air, I’ve got a shot, but I try to find him. But he thinks I’m going to shoot, so his back is turned. I’m trying to think about getting him the ball a lot – take care of him as much as I possibly can. It takes me out of rhythm a little bit, but I’m fine with that. If that’s going to help our team, I’m more than willing to do that.”
interesting that a guy averaging 18.3 ppg for his career, does not know how to ever get open. People seemed to find him in Orlando.*
some "pearls of wisdom" by our good friends Upscope & Ratzz:
it was back and forth, we called each a few names.. but*my position is that although he started very high, KOBE will not finish over .439% for the season. And while there is quite a bit of tanking between now and then, i think he can do it.
*
That is the bet.*
I will post image captures of the PPG Leader Boards, as well as Efficiency Ratings, every week. *
Let's all watch this tank together, shall we?
