    Big Play on 76ers ML -120

    I think this is a great spot to back the Sixers for a big play. They are coming off an extremely embarrassing loss to the previously winless Detroit Pistons and are now 1-3 at home this year. I think they right the ship tonight against Utah. In order to do so, they will need to man up and battle with Utah's bigs. Collins has challenged his team to play tougher after getting dominated on the boards and I expect them to respond with some fight tonight.

    In order to offset some of Utah's size advantage, I look for the Sixers to push the tempo and get out and run with Holiday and Turner. In the midst of a 5 game homestand, I just can't see Philly dropping the first three.

    This is my first big play of the year. Yes, I realize it is in the midst of a bad run in the NBA for me but I've more than made up for it in college hoops and football as well. I see this as a good spot to hammer a play that I really like.

    I'm on the other side, not a big play, though. I understand your logic and it seems like a good spot for a bounce back, but I'd still hesitate to go big on a team that just lost their previous game to the atrocious Pistons in such an embarrassing manner. GL to you, man!

    If you're that confident, why not play the spread?

    -120 adds up on 20 unit plays.

    If you're betting 20 units you must be confident so why pay a little extra? Surely they cover 1.5 right?

    Utah is playing tough right now (almost took out Boston the other night and did take out Toronto in triple overtime). I dont see philly matching up well at all against the Jazz as they lack size in a major way. I think the sixers are last in the league in points in the paint. Just something to think about, in my opinion not the best game to being going "big" on.

    Hopefully they can get some shots to fall. They shot 29.5 % the other night against the Pistons. Its going to be rough until they get Bynum back. With no inside presence they don't get good perimeters shots because teams don't have to worry about an interior threat and can close out outside shooting. They need to get some fast break points because it's obvious their half court offense is not able to generate anything.

    I'm laying off this one but I think you'll hit the ML.

    philly are garbage in the weak east, can't score, can't shoot. they're playing nick young for god's sake. utah should pound these bums, road or not. philly can defend but utah is too big, they'll pound em on the boards. utah is legit this year

    Funny considering I have an economics degree.

    The probability Philly loses outright is higher than the probability of them winning by exactly 1 point. That's why I would play the spread.

    If its a 20 unit play, you would have to be confident they win by more than one wouldn't you?

    You look foolish if you think you're better off paying the juice in the long run. One play wouldn't be that bad but this line indicates its a coin flip so paying -120 over time on something that is 50/50 is just stupid.

    Not a good spot to really bank on either team to come through. Utah= playin great, obv stronger in the frontcourt. Also, middle of an east coast road swing. Philly= rested, at home, good bounce back spot, can defend just about anybody besides al and mill. Think the line's pretty sharp. Both sides seem pretty gamble-y.

    Lol. He isn't "selling" points idiot. He is basically buying points by taking the ML.

    Are you an advocate of buying points and paying more on things with a probability of 50%?

    Maybe you should get a clue.

    In a one play instance it's not that big of a deal but long term you go broke faster.

    There is a better chance Philly loses than there is they win by "exactly" one.

    It would be like putting $1100 down on black while playing roulette and then putting an extra $100 down in case it lands on green.
