For those that have Bet365, Sportingbet, Sportsbet accounts etc got a nice match starting in 45 minutes. The extremely talented and rather un-reliable ernests Gulbis is playing a David v Goliath match-up where if the 'switched on' Ernests' shows up (as he did in the first round) this could get very ugly for his opponent.

    Ernests Gulbis v Konstantin Kravchuck
    ATP Eckental Challenger (Germany)

    Gulbis m/l -154 (Sportingbet) 2 Units
    Gulbis 2-0 +145 (Sportingbet) 1 Unit

Simon walkover victory over Nishikori, what a shame, I was very confident in this wager.

In the old days the mentally unstable Birdman was almost a guarantee to retire in this position, un-fortunately for us the modern mature top 10 Berdych rarely retires...

1 more from the Eckental challenger in Germany. My style of tennis capping is largely based on finding rising talent and following their career progression closely (May have noticed from my talk of Raonic, Nishikori, etc), looking for value situations especially as a dog against higher profile/ranked players. Here is one of those situations...

    Eckental Challenger

    Uladzimir Ignatik v Grega Zmelja

Yeah i know mate, final of an ATP event (beating Haas and Tipsarevic along the way) is nothing to laugh at but this Ignatik is a serious rising star and coming off a couple nice wins himself.

Querry v Raonic. I have been waiting patiently for 18 months for Milos to live up to the hype that surrounds this kid and sadly it has not yet happened. I watched the Querry match against Djokovic and he was sensational. Try and imagine the mental fortitude requiured to come back from 0-6 first set (when he was even smashing gift winners out) against the world's best player. Their were times when tough calls went against Querry in the tense third set and he did not bat an eyelid. This guy is on the rise. If he was a stock you would buy now, and no this is not a let down spot for Querry, he is not that sort of player and Milos is another worthy scalp to take.

    ANY THOUGHTS on TipsyV.Monaco?
Well yesterday I had Dimitrov against Monaco which lost and Sjisling +3.5 against Tipsarevic which cashed, so I guess you could say i don't really rate either one of them at the moment. If you ask me which way I'm leaning i would say Monaco, as he moves well across the court and I think Tipa is a bit tired, he's played so much tennis this year. Also Monaco decent record indoors and at Paris tournament as well.

Here's a few facts for you to think about...
Juan Monaco has won 4 of last 5 in France.
Juan Monaco has won 5 of last 6 on Indoor Hard.
Juan Monaco has won 4 of last 5 at Paris TMS.
Juan Monaco has won 4 of last 5 when Opponent is a Big Server.
Juan Monaco has lost 4 of last 5 when Opponent is a Top 10 Player.
Janko Tipsarevic has won 4 of last 5 in France.

Ok boys average night in the tennis. In hindsight I should have assigned more units to Querry, I was very confident after his performance against Djokovic and 2 units was too conservative. The birdman Berdych let us down with a shocker and Nishikori's withdrawal against Simon was a dissapointment as he was my favorite bet yesterday. Anyway, we move forward. No play in the NBA for me tonight, the over (SA/OKC) looked tempting at 200.5, but not interested at current line of 204.5.

I have decided to seperate my YTD records between tennis and nba, it is only fair for those that only wish to follow picks in one of the two sports and want to see how I am doing...

Yesterday we wnt 3-3-1 in the tennis for -0.25 units

    Tennis YTD 9-8-2 (+1.2 Units)

    NBA YTD 2-1 (+0.35 Units)

Got some big plays already lined up for the tennis tonight...

    Paris Masters 1000 (Indoor Hard)

    Over 24.5 -114 (Pinnacle) 1 Unit

    Jerzy Janowicz v Janko Tipsarevic

    Janowicz +2.5 -105 (Pinnacle) 2 Units

    Janowicz m/l +175 (Pinnacle) 1 Unit

    David Ferrrer v Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

Ferrer m/l +127 (Pinnacle) 4 Units (Play of the day)

    WTA Tournamnet of Champion's (Bulgaria)
    Daniela Hantuchova v Su-Wei Hseih

    Hantuchova m/l -166 (Pinnacle) 2 Units

    Eckental Challenger (Germany)
    Ernests Gulbis v Grega Zemlja

    Gulbis m/l -115 (Sportsbet) 1 Unit

Your spot on mate, Llodra is playing great tennis ATM, I've always been a fan of his and had him 2 days ago as a dog against Isner. Don't know what i was thinking with the Del Boy pick last night, I think I was writing too much into his dominant ATS performances against weaker opposition.

    Querry v Llodra
Anyway as I said in my write-up last night Llodra (even more than the rest of the Frenchie's) really feeds off the home crowd and being a small stadium (max capacity - 600) it is quite relevant. Ok so both players are playing lights out tennis this week, however for me Querry is the more dominant. The performance against the Djoker was one for the ages and his clinical dismissal of fellow power player Raonic impressive as well. Classic match-up of serve/volley style net specialist against power baseline player. Querry will IMO be harder to break and he has shown the mental fortitude under pressure that makes me believe he will be able to withstand a probably fast starting and fired up Llodra. Remember at the start of this month Llodra was still playing on the challenger circuit. Querry for me mate.

Key Fact - Sam Querrey has won 16 of last 17 when Opponent is a Left Hander.

Love the ferrer play but I will avoid pounding it because of a number of reasons.
    1. Tsonga playing at home
    2. Bookies having been throwing weird lines like these out.

Azarenka vs sharapova really ****** me up last week if you recall.

It just seems all too fishy to me. GL on it as well though.

Thanks mate. Your caution on Ignatik was right last night. When i fell asleep Ignatik looked great but I was shocked to wake up and find Zemlja had won. He has shown a fighting spirit I didn't realize he possessed to grind that match out...

    Geneva Challenger (Indoor Hard)

    Starts in 2 hours

    Jonathan Eysseric v Marc Gicquel

    Eysseric m/l +180 (Sportingbet) 1 Unit

Old man Frenchy Gicquel vs young Frenchy Eysseric. 4 Years ago Gicquel was quite good but now at 34 and playing on the challenger circuit he is clearly on the decline, whereas Eysseric at 22 still has room for improvement. The kid has played 5 matches at this tournament and only dropped 2 sets, beating my man Marco Chiudenelli along the way and winning his last 2 as a dog. Nice value for a unit at +180.
