2 easy steps:
1) Taking the Greek A1 Basketball with full £300 on Panathinaikos to win Money Line (the spread of 15 points is just too high, better take them to win the game).
First go: £300 --> £317
2) Taking Miami Heat Money Line with the winnings of £317 on odds of 1.14 (if they won't change by the time the game ends in Greece, Pinny didn't allow me to do Parlays there)
Second and final go: £317 --> £360
Easy £60 for the day (almost $100 worth), without working hard or sweating!

Is there money to be made playing -EV locks like this? You're bound to lose one which wipes out so much profit.

I could have risked £50 to win £60 but then the risk would have been much greater.
Instead of playing "into the bookies mind" I avoid using their ridiculous handicap and choose to play MONEY LINE which is like being a bookie yourself, so if you have a big more budget (£300 instead of £50) you make the same money with "good sleep" at night.
To be honest, Knicks or not, I would never lay these 9-10 points on the 2nd game, even if the 1st ended with 30+ points, there is a reason behind this handicap in Vegas and I prefer to not be part of it, I just like to play it safe and enjoy it.
If you look at my topics I risked £2000 last night on the Spurs, to win Money Line, if I would have played even with £100 on the handicap my heart wouldn't stop beating, the game was around that 11 point line until the last 2-3 minutes of the game.
Works better during NCAAB, especially if you parlay some big favs together you can get 30-50% depending on the teams and lines.

I don't pick up every game, I put lots of thoughts behind each one.
The Greek game was part of their semi finals, they cannot fix the winner but they could fix the spread, and Miami is same thing, and somehow I can see the Knicks keep the game close by 1 digit as well, I just don't see them winning coz Miami got the starts who know how to perform in real pressure situations.

Not a lot for high street bankers who for them £1,000,000 is like a joke, but for most of us £60 here or $100 there is money and we do care about these "small" amounts.

I totally agree with this strategy. My problem is that when I start winning (with any strategy) I lose my discipline because somehow start to think unconsciously that I'm invincible and I can't lose so then I start betting everyday, I stop using the strategy that helped me win because I lose my discipline.
I met a professional sports bettor in Vegas once who told me he only bet heavy on one game a week average, if I had that discipline I would be successful.
To give you another example, Tim Donaughy has said that although he was extremely successful at betting on the NBA he would lose what he won on the NBA betting on "other things" that he didn't know so well.
Honestly, winning is easy frequently but self control is hard. It reminds me of a famous quote that says that it's often easier to control an entire army than it is to control yourself.

Wonder how many punters have tried this out over the last 100 years..no extinction of bookies that i know of from it..a person told me many years ago..never back odds on favourites and never run up stairs..neither good for your health i guess.

When I place these bets I don't worry for one single bit, I actually watched Miami playing yesterday in full, the whole game, it was even boring and I didn't watch it because I bet on it, I watched it because I wanted to see it just like I watched the 4th quarter with Orlando afterwards.

That's why there is tennis today with Dudi Sela who has 2.50 and Schwank has 1.50.
According to stats Schwank should take it, but if I bet on it I wouldn't bet more than £10 because this is not part of my system to make money.
I'd rather take 2 easy/safe bets of 1.20 instead of 1 riskier of 1.50
