    INDEPENDENCE -- Cavaliers rookie Kyrie Irving is doubtful for the home finale against Washington on Wednesday night because of the stomach flu, according to a team release.

    He did not participate in morning shootaround.

    Coach Bryon Scott is expecting Donald Sloan to start in Irving's absence on Fan Appreciation night. Scott said he received a text message from trainer Max Benton about Irving's illness on Wednesday morning. The team did not practice on Tuesday after back to back games in San Antonio and Memphis in which Irving averaged 22 points.

    The Cavs beat the Wizards on April 14 without Irving or Antawn Jamison in the lineup. That was the Wizards' last loss. They have won four straight.

    Irving could be home in bed with a 103 temperature, but it won't stop some around the league from rolling their eyeballs at the news.
