The Lakers have not covered ATS for 9 games in a row as a favorite

so why would this change tonight against a semi hot Nets team who have won 3 in a row now straight up as underdogs?

No, the lakers are completely over hyped. You really think the books lost on New Jersey winning these last 3 games? LOL.

Actually 1-14 ATS last 15 as favorites and the cover came in OT at New Orleans by 1 point.

they are the best fade in NBA history this year. theyre 18-35 ATS against the best available number against them. best you could find betting ON them would make you 22-31. basically you could be 66% fading these guys blindly.

Their last 100 games theyre 40-60. Unheard of in terms of a fairly long term result. they have and will continue to be one of the most over rated teams ever by gamblers. So while the know it all and myopians can applaud their 'success' they are clearly a great team to bet against. basically guys could have made a living fading these guys the past few seasons, even the year they won it all. Since the start of the 09 season (they won it that year) this team is 105-145 ATS. 3 years fading them every game would have you at 58%. basically 30 units. so if you bet a dime a game you would be up 30K fading these stiffs... blindly. That includes play off games as well. 2008 was the last year they were close to .500 ATS wise, they were 53-52 that year. But since the start of the 09 season this team is 167-83 SU (66%) but 105-145 ATS. That is the very definition of over rated. If you want to break it down into fav and dog parameters it gets even worse. As a fav in that time period theyre 149-53 SU, 87-115 ATS. As a rule of thumb if a team wins SU theyre going to cover 70-75% of the time. lakers cover just 58%. That is horrendous. As a dog they are more true to form. They are 16-28 SU as a dog, and 19-25 ATS as a dog meaning they 'covered' (lost but not by enough) just 3 games. Bulls by comparison since 09 are 27-43 SU as a dog but 42-27 ATS. As favs theyre much better as well 126-40 SU and 95-71 ATS. Another over rtaed team? How about the Heat? Theyre 142-56 Su as a fav since 09, 111-87 ATS thats a 78% win rate as a fav. So as over rated as they are they still cover spreads astronomically better than the Lakers do. Heat as a dog in that time period are 13-24 SU (a dog a lot less than the lakers) and are 19-18 ATS. So their 'cover' rate isnt great either.

Bottom line is no matter how over rated you might think some team is by the books or the bettors none are even in the same universe as the lakers.

Regardless of ATS, you said they will be a lottery team and not make the playoffs. You were a little off.

yeah and they dont play harder against the heat or the bulls or the knicks or any other team that gets a lot of hype. that is just the typical LA excuse for why they lose games at all. if you polled laker fans and listed off their schedule 75% of these tools would ave them 82-0 (in a regular season) and when they lose it was because of a ref or the other team tried really hard because it was the lakers.

Most teams could sleep walk against this team this year and beat them and they have.

ut effort or lack of doesnt explain such a major issues with the lakers compared to other teams, and if it really does then books would adjust it and the numbers wouldnt be nearly as skewed.

Even when lakers had shaq and they were really pretty good and didnt try half the time they still covered a lot more than these lakers have since Shaq left.

season aint over if they go on a 4 or 5 game losing streak it will be interesting thats for sure. If bynum really hurts that ankle and has to sit multiple games then what?

brown has been worse than advertised, but he has also been lucky these guys havent broken down yet. But to think Bynum couldnt go down at any minute is a fantasy, kid is so immature he might pull a fake job and claim he cant play just to get some rest. which might not be a bad thing.

I have made money fadng them this year, a lot of money, so I couldnt care less about the weak comments on them making the play offs when I said they would probably be a lottery team, their ATS record is much worse than a lottery teams would be. So who cares. Theyre shit team and they are going to be shit and a perfect fade next year too.

LMAO I have scoreboard and money in the bank the typical loser myopians have porn site shit and their usual fantasy.

Last I checked they didnt pay guys for making predictions on play offs or lottery teams, they do however offer a line to fade every game these stiff play. I havent faded them every game but more than enough of them. I have said it all year, guys who paid attention probably made money, guys like JJ who play the 'due' angle are still losing their asses.

Worst part is a least thelip service 9probably due to being confronted with actual facts) shhows that guys realize lakers are a bad team to bet on. So as a fan how does it taste knowing you cant bet against 'your' team even though you know it is free money.

thats why guys wont win because they have very bad attitudes and no common sense. You have a team that in the past DECADE is 415-489 ATS (46%) but 569-335 SU yet probably havent bet against them because youre a 'fan'. lakers have had a single winning season ATS despite having 5 rings and 7 finals appearances in that time. So while books will obviously inflate a line they cant make them big enough to counter act the stupidity of people that continue to bet on them. Rings and play offs dont make gamblers money. Future plays and series prices on them have always been shit. But fading them even blindly has been as easy an endeavor as one can find in sports betting history.

I am or was a GAMBLER, I bet on sporting event to make money. Hell I dont even play all that much one way action bt even a play it safe sort of guy like me recognizes that fading the lakers is as easy as it gets.

Lifetime laker fan here, I will easily separate my fandom and say the Lakers are only good for a 7-8 point victory at home regardless of the opponent. They were playing a "4 on 5" for the last couple years when Fisher was at pg helm. Now that Sessions has taking over there is slight improvement but not much, plus a learning curve for Sessions to get new system. Lakers are still a great team but they don't deserve the kind of ats respect that OKC or the Bulls get at home.

    http://espn.go.com/espnradio/losangeles/play?s=la
chances are he wont play tonight.
Mike Brown says "He's a game time decision" but in separate interview Bynum said "he would not play." He also received a team fine probably for talking to reporter about not playing.

That's what I was thinking. Lakers probably feel comfortable they can win w/o him. No reason to rush him back. Lets not forget that this is the reg. season too.

I think they are just mailing it in with some spots. Then come playoff time they will turn up the juice again. No sense sweating where you finish in the standings with this kind of season.
