Last I checked they didnt pay guys for making predictions on play offs or lottery teams, they do however offer a line to fade every game these stiff play. I havent faded them every game but more than enough of them. I have said it all year, guys who paid attention probably made money, guys like JJ who play the 'due' angle are still losing their asses.

You have a team that in the past DECADE is 415-489 ATS (46%) but 569-335 SU yet probably havent bet against them because youre a 'fan'. lakers have had a single winning season ATS despite having 5 rings and 7 finals appearances in that time. So while books will obviously inflate a line they cant make them big enough to counter act the stupidity of people that continue to bet on them. Rings and play offs dont make gamblers money. Future plays and series prices on them have always been shit. But fading them even blindly has been as easy an endeavor as one can find in sports betting history.

Local still has lakers -10 here (was -11) so not many people are slowing down. I am pretty much the only guy who steadily bets against the lakers. He tries jamming me for half points here and there but i call him on it. he needs the balancing because if lakers ever do start covering he will have issues.

Bynum is a wild card. he said (before he heard about g etting fined by the team) he would 'definitely' play Tonight. Now after he gets the news he gets a fine he says he is out because of the same injury he said wasnt bad enough to keep him from playing.

So he goes from a full practice and 'definitely' playing on Monday to now sitting out practice getting a bunch of drugs and saying he wont play. Dont be surprised to see him initiate operation shut down when he does come back.

he thinks kobe is a ball hog and wants more shots, I dont blame him there. but he is still acting like an 18 year old kid even though he is close to 27 if not 27 now.

Will be really interestign to see what lakers can do with him in the off season. I suspect they want to get rid of him, but couldnt do it during the season because he is seen as such a 'great' player. So they will use the excuse of getting their asses blasted in the play offs again to re-evaluate it. With no howard around it will be hard to get anyone that can 'take his place' but they really dont need a legit center, n other teams have one either. He sounds like more trouble than he is worth.

If bynum doesnt play or quits trying they still might not make it. they need at least 5 wins to make sure they make the play offs 36-30 will do it for sure. Anything under that and its a guessing game. Like I said will be interesting if they go on a 5 or 6 game losing streak against this 'weaker' portion of their monthly schedule. But if the Spurs arent resting guys and OKC arent resting guys that is realistically 4 losses right there. Then you have desperate teams like Dallas, Denver, Hou, and Phoenix in the mix. Streaking Clips (lakers play them off tonights game with no rest, clips have today off). Only gimme games are at new orleans and at golden st. Other than that they can lose any of them. Although I suspect Sactown will be lottery hunting the last game and will probably be playing cheerleaders to make sure they get more ping pong balls. So 3 wins for sure (or should be) with 11 other games in question. Although tonight seems to be an automatic win according to most people I guess. But if they lose tonight and lose the next 3 after that and then lose AT new Orleans then what? Obviously that shouldnt happen but this team hasnt been reliable all season. If bynum shuts it down or is really hurt then that adds another wrinkle. But they should still be able ot beat teams looking for lottery postion without him.

if that were the case they wouldnt have the massively imbalanced ATS record they have. Seriously go find a generic dtatabse with ATS results and compare every team in the NBA over certain periods of time. From really good to really bad or improved teeams. Lakers are far and away the most consistently good bet against team there is. Books arent dumb, they adjust and adjust hard, it still isnt enough.

You dont think the books look at the LONG history of the lakers ATS and look for ways to try and even it up? On sides they are way off, not even close to what one would expect. But on totals lakers are right around where one would think they would be. since the start of the 2002 season (the one I cited earlier) their totals are a common 461-453 O/U. it is obvious more people bet ON the lakers and the SIDE than they do on the totals.

I made one early play for Wednesday on 76ers Over 179, which is now 183 mostly everywhere. I am kicking myself for not betting Heat Under 203, which is now 197 at most books and 196.5 at Heritage (balancing attempt?).

Not counting that game, they don't have a legitimate cover as a favorite since February 29th when they pounded Minnesota.
