Anyone know if it's true that Amare was against the Knicks trading for Melo in the first place? I've heard this before.

I don't buy the blame it on Melo thing. He won in Denver, he won at Syracuse...

    The whole roster is overrated.

The terrible Melo trade, overpaying Amare, and then overpaying Chandler sure didn't help out.

Won games... the west was loaded when he was over in Denver so getting a title was going to be tough. But they did win games and were a good team. The Knicks are terrible so you can't blame it on Melo.

How could they not see trading there entire roster for a one dimension isolation player would end badly?

Then they give amare a max deal knowing his knees can go at anytime and it can't be insured.

    Then they sign baron.

    Then they sign jr smith.

I don't mind the Tyson contract.

Care to explain why the knicks went on the best run of the season while melo was out?

They played bottom dwellers + a Lakers team that was like 4-12 on the road going into that game.

They didn't beat anyone good in that stretch besides the Mavs and even the Mavs are average on the road. Now obviously beating bad teams is better than losing to every decent/good team but I'd say it was 50% the schedule and 50% no one knew anything about Lin.

Iman should be getting more minutes with Woodson as the coach. Let's see some D!!! and maybe under 200.5 for tonight's game.

    ugh..this is rough.

D'Antoni never really coached. His system is smoke. The players are alllowed to do whatever they want.

Stupid basketball. It needed to stop. Melo sucks

D'antoni couldn't solve the problem. Time to move on. The Knicks have the right pieces but need a coach that can make them work as a unit. Larry Brown or Phil Jackson would have the Knicks winning. It's not Carmelo, it's the coach's job to orchestrate the offensive and defensive schemes while using proper time managment and substitutions. Plain and simple

Lin said during star break that in 2nd half of season he wants to see people not talk about Linsanity, but about Knicks team. Be careful what you wish for.

Out of all the stupid idiots that said something about coach yours actually has some thought. They are better w/o coach and will start winning games now. Coach didn't fit the team and Knicks will now be in the playoff run because of antoni retiring IMO

The team is not a title contender, but for them to not even be a playoff team, that falls on the coach.

You have a guy who can get you 30 a night efficiently, you gotta figure out how to work around the need for melo isos. It's not like hes jacking a million shots to get points.

D'Antoni lost control of the players. MSG President O'Neil has close ties with CAA, the company that represents Anthony. D'Antoni knew he would be the loser if he had a confrontation with Anthony about his play. Thomas also was behind the trade for Anthony, hopefully one day Dolan will learn to ignore him.

Never happened.I used to be a techie for Cablevison, Dolan was my boss (even though I rarely saw him)
He's the biggest dickhead on the planet.
