N00b with a question about uneven point spreads

Hi I'm new to point spreads.

I had a question about uneven point spreads.

I use sportsbook. If the Hawks win today or loose by 11 that's a win right ? (They are +11.5)

If they loose by 12 that's a loss not a tie right ?

Hawks + 11.5 means they are 11.5 underdogs. As long as they don't lose by 12 or more, then ATL +11.5 cashes.

As for Heat -11.5, they have to win by at least 12 for it to cash. Having an uneven point spread basically means it can't push.

That's right. If a spread is 11.5 or anything with .5, that mean's that there can be no tie, or push. If the spread was 11 flat then you would win your bet if Atl either wins the game or manages to lose by 10 or less, if it lands exactly on 11 it is a "push" or tie, and if Atl loses by 12 or more than you lose your bet.

It would be a push, and your money returned.
