Carlisle is a TOP 5 coach easily in the league. He's the BEST on calling timeouts.

Not to be a goat milk here but there's no way chicago beats miami in a 7 game series.

He calls timeouts more often than any other coach i swear. Doesn't matter if mavs are up 25, if the other team cuts it down to 21 he calls a timeout. It's pretty annoying to be honest.

    Probably not. We'll see.

It will take having three of the best players in basketball to overcome Spoelstra. I still think his inexperience and LeBron's penchant for choking will cost the Heat again this year when games get tight at the end.

I'm not a spoelstra fan, if they win it will be in spite of him. Guy uses every cliche in the book and i just don't see how his message gets across to these guys. I would not take him seriously if i were an nba player.

So you have a coach like that and a star who is a choker -- nice combo come playoff time.

How the hell is mcmillan a good coach? Portland has been a major disappointment this season and most people who know a thing or two about basketball will tell you that he restricts his team and doesn't let them get out and run.

Hard to fully judge him based on Portland's horrific injury history.

Not only can you not change it -- it's getting worse. It's in his head and taken over his mind now. He'll never be a "closer." Ever. Which makes it damn hard for this team to win a title.

Amazing how the one game he closed, i had bulls -3 and he basically single-handedly brings miami back from a double-digit deficit in the last few minutes.

D.Casey seems like a good coach. Raptors are bad, that's mainly cuz of the talent level available. Their defense has improved and this is casey's 1st year with the team.

True. They'd be borderline dangerous if Bargnani could ever get healthy.

How, pray tell, do you figure?

The irony is I don't think Spoelstra's a bad coach at all. Like a lot of the black coaches I listed, though, he has no business being in this position at this point in his career. He's in over his head when it comes to trying to actually win a championship.

He's planning and playing out situations, even if they aren't there score-wise.

But that's the point: LeBron thinks he should be "the guy" -- and I don't blame him for that. He's the most physically gifted freak the NBA's ever seen, outside of maybe Shaq and Wilt. He's a follower trapped in a closer's body.

Spoelstra will likely get fired if the Heat don't win a title this year, and he'll likely be a pretty good coach somewhere else down the road. For now, though, he lacks the chops to win it all. Shame on Riley and Miami for assuming otherwise.

Doc Rivers is a top 3 coach easily.

Dwayne Casey is the best coach in Torotno for years, raptors games are way slower now and lower scoring so the raptors usually have a chance to win most games

Like I said, there are just a lot of bad coaches in the league right now period.

The black coaches I mentioned -- with the exception of Hollins -- are at a disadvantage in that they were rushed into their current positions. Not sure how you could say guys like Smart and Marc Jackson are qualified to be NBA head coaches.

I suppose I have to give Doc credit because of the titles he's won, but I personally have never been that impressed with him (kind of like Stan Van -- I just don't get the love for that guy).
