Horrible spot for the Magic tonight

Just let a 26-point lead slip away on their home court Thursday vs. Boston. Lost SU. Now they head to New Orleans for their fourth game in five days (at Boston, at Indiana, vs. Boston, at NOLA).

Hornets have struggled mightily this season, with nine straight losses. Friday night home dog and virtually the same ATS record as the Magic, though. Even if the Hornets start slow, they might be worth a 2H play because Orlando will probably hit a wall.

For those of us who watch Magic games, we know how bad the body language of Dwight of the boys can be at times. Line has already been adjusted to a certain extent to cover all of this -- would probably be +5.5 or +6 under normal circumstances -- but I still think the Hornets can cover here.

Imo,New Orleans has a great opportunity to win this game, this week Magic humiliated twice and I think it just gets worse.

Only problem is the last time they were humiliated by Boston, they beat the shit out of Indiana the next night.

I agree with ya no coin, however I'm suprised it opened at -3.5, I thought it'd be about 4.5-5.5 despite the collapse. NO is a bad basketball team. However, maybe books want the action on the disappearing act, Magic.

Hornets have been close to pulling off some upsets lately. They've been very competitive -- just haven't gotten over the hump.

NC, what's a good site to see public % (consenus) on NBA bets. Vegasinsider? Oddsshark? Which one you use?

Here's a free one for you, though I don't know how accurate it is and I don't know where they get their info. from:

I agree that it is a bad spot coming off the debacle last night. But I just don't think it's a good game to bet.

I think it's not a good strategy to bet on such emotional games. You just can't predict how the team will react. I'd say look for something else tonight.

I originally had the Hornets circled on my calendar in this game, but the outcome last night makes it a no-play. Look at the pregame commentary by the Magic before last night's game regarding the embarrassment from the first loss in Boston. Van Gundy described it as a game that was going to haunt him for the rest of his life. Following the repeat last night, I would not want to be in the way of the Magic today. They're going to be playing mad.

If the Magic had won last night, I would've gone big on the Hornets.

I took New Orleans at +4 for a unit, but now I'm not so sure. Actually tempted to try and double-dip by taking Magic 1H, then hope for a backdoor cover if Orlando hits the wall physically late.

Magic will be out for blood after that pounding in the
2nd half last night, it's a short trip to N.O. who are Gordonless.
Van Gundy will keep them focused.

Really? Why the line only -4?

I would lean the other way actually. I think the Hornets will come out throwing big punches trying to rattle the Magic early. Orlando will weather the storm and slowly take control of the game, much like they did with Indiana. I think it's hard to go through a completely dysfunctional 2H like last night and then turn it around right away the next night into efficient gameplay to start the game.

It was actually -7 very early at BOL.

Orlando will punish the hornets tonight, the lowest scoring team in the conference , why the line is so short beats me but i\ll gladly take it.

Magic are a team that responds well. They are 5-0 ATS off a straight up loss.

Tough spot for Boston tonight. Now they have to play a real team that plays 4 quarters.

I actually like this spot for Orlando.. it seems like whenever you say to yourself "im never betting magic again" they start blowing out the lesser teams.

Gordon is out for NO, but he will be back soon and in all likelihood will never be injury prone. It is key for their trade as they got the best of the deal. Good luck!

The line came out before the collapse, so the opening line had nothing to do with that.

Why is it ONLY -4? It ought to be a pick-em based on power ratings. Lots of value with New Orleans in this one, aside from the situation.

Tough choice who to side with: The 84% of the public, which of that 84%, 70% are probably idiot squares. Or the smart people who's live are based around making these lines...........
