If I take a dog I feel comfortable +8, so late fouls won't burn me

7 doesn't mean anything as far as a key number in basketball. I don't think there is a key number, maybe 2 but that's it.

If you bet a dog +7 is critical. It is the 3 possession number as well as the point where teams quit fouling to send the other team to FT line.

In college they usually play to win if it is under 10. Pro's 7 .

The late, great Al McGuire used to say that the 2 key numbers in basketball were 7 and 11. The explanation was that the strategy teams play vary greatly when the lead is under 7 or over 11.

lol Fishhead, can't tell if you're joking or what.

All points are about equal, both in NBA and NCAABB. If you're unsure, check a push chart.

this makes sense, if key numbers are actually key I think you would see that reflected in study of final scores.

So is it slightly? Or is it critical?

Or do you mind if I suggest that you partake in a little clarity? Perhaps even throw in some evidence to back your mutually exclusive claims?

Don't mind me I'm slightly critical.

    Urban myth!

A margin of victory of 7 in the NBA is no more common than 6 and is less common than 9.

whatever you do, never buy on or off any number in basketball, it isn't worth it.

7 means fk all in hoops, you guys who pretend that you know everything sound stupid in this spot... this isn't foots, if you want key #s in hoops it doesn't go beyond 2 or 3, anything else is just bad losses for you # supporters above 2,3.

I've noticed that 5.5 home favorites have been covering like crazy this year.

Way back since before Port was -5.5 vs denver (but i really started noticing here with my examination of previous matchups), Spurs a couple times, Miami -5.5 over lakers recently, last night Dallas -5.5 over phx.. and a bunch more
