Was thinking the same thing. Pacers off their West Coast road trip, feeling good after back to back wins at GSW and Lakeshow, would expect them to start slow and I look for Orlando to come out guns blazing looking to quickly get over tonight's performance. Yes that would be correct if it was ALWAYS a coinflip. There are many lines that are released that have a greater than 50% chance of hitting, hence why people can profit from sports.

So to me, any run like 15-0 or even close to that means someone is picking higher value picks than 50%, because yes, hitting those many coinflips in a row is hard.

Not a literal coin, obviously... Just remember that anytime you pick a team to win ATS, there are a lot of unspoken conditional statements about each individual player performing as expected, overall team turnovers/assists/rebounds/blocks playing out on par with expectations, etc.

15-0 means the bounces are going your way, and great for Dad. But variance is a bitch, and no good run lasts forever. It's already into the "very unlikely" range.

2% of sports bettors win longterm, and even the best cappers in the world will have losing seasons here and there. How many of those wins beat the spread by more than 1 possession? How many were walking away wins that were not in doubt in the final 2 minutes? Covering by 1 and covering by 10 are vastly different statements.
