    Darryl Dawkins

    Darryl Dawkins from Orlando, FL and former 76ers, Nets, Jazz and Pistons center is 55 today..Chocolate Thunder had 12 ppg with 6.1 rpg...He was nicknamed "Chocolate Thunder" for his powerful dunks, which notably led to the NBA adopting breakaway rims due to Dawkins shattering the backboard on two occasions in 1979..Following his NBA career, Dawkins had a brief stint with the Harlem Globetrotters..Dawkins is the author of Chocolate Thunder: The Uncensored Life and Times of Darryl Dawkins (co-authored with Charley Rosen), which chronicles his on and off-the-court life as an NBA star.

    Dawkins was a pretty intimidating figure on the court. Too bad he didn't have a good post game, other than dunking the rock.
